Here I may just share the changes that have taken place in electioneering. As a child, I enjoyed the election campaign. The candidates would distribute badges to children. The children would just shout slogans without even knowing the purpose. The slogans were were enjoyable. Like "---- gali gali men chaakoo hai ------vala dakoo hai'.
There have also been changes in voting system. In the first election, the voters would only put the ballots in candidate's box. They would not mark the ballot. So the slogan would be- vote kismen daloge- ......... ke bakse main. Later, ballots were put in same bix and voter would put mark on candidate. so the campaign woud be- mohar lage gi......... par ' Now there is electronic voting. so the campaign is- batan ......... dabao."

If there was even a hint of such a thing, Congress woyuld have by now created a rucus....It used to happen during before and Congress was an expert at rigging, but now with the new machines it is not possible although in one booth in Mandya apparently the votes were being cast by the local goons , where the villagers simply put their thumb impression and the goons cast vote on their behalf...One can guess it has to be the state run party which is currently in power ...

Congress could not have rigged as state governments have more authority in this connection. There are non congress parties in many states where not congress but others can rig or even forcible capture booths. .
