Ha ha ha!!  Sandhya, not just in Kerala, all over India, most teachers speak that way!!! One of my teachers used to tell us, whenever we got into trouble, 'Call both your parents, I want to speak to them'
Ya,sandhya
especially the 'fish market' dialoge was spoken by my social science teacher

In fact our english teacher's correction was kind of weired. we used to get marks like 23 3/4 or 24 1/2 or 22 1/4 and she never round it off unless it is another balancing number. uff, it was tough calculating maths in english marks. hehe

Swetha this is really a good dialogues of teachers even me faced it.
i think speaking English needs lots of words to remember and side by side must know the meaning of those words.some times grammatical mistakes comes in between .the sentence and we stop speaking.nervousness is also the main reason which becomes a barrier.

True! Which is why practice is a must, even though you may commit mistakes while speaking. Do not be afraid of making mistakes, and keep practicing and always carry a dictionary to refer to. It helps a lot! Another thing, invite criticism from friends, it too will help improve your spoken English skills.
Speaking practice is the one which make you fluent in speaking english

That is the most common inhibition that most of us face when speaking English. If you really want to improve, the first you should do is stop being scared and start practicing!

Better shed the fear and speak in English without hesitation.
I suggest use small sentence only. This will help you.
Let me redraft your post as under:

Bang on! Fear should give way to a firm desire to master it. In most cases this fear interferes in achieving success in this regard.
Lat time, when i talked to Swetha, she told that I have improved very much. It's really a great compliment for me. Yes, first step lies in our strong determination and second one, freeing our mind from fear.
