This is an old question with an addition about possibility in future. Life is possible anywhere provided that oxygen and water is available there. So, presently, in the past or in future, life is possible anywhere if oxygen and water is available.

Although conclusive proofs are not there at the moment but I am convinced that scientific efforts which are on may succeed in making breakthroughs in future!
It might be possible that life exists presently at couple of other planets.As there have been signs of aliens and their space ships coming on earth.
For future also, it is possible if our scientists could create same kind of environment as is there on earth and make all the basic things required for life present on other planets. After all, there are only 103 elements which give birth to every particle present on the earth.
Arise Awake and Rest Not till the Goal is Achieved.
What was thought unimaginable and improbable a few centuries back is now reality! Let us hope scientists' efforts in this direction meet with success as we badly need planet to shift to!!
