Royal Challengers Bangalore has released Anil Kumble, who was leading the last two seasons of the T20 League, for the auction. Similarly, Dravid has been set free by the RBC for auction. However, the team has retained Virat Kohli for his performance in the ongoing matches ODI series against New Zealand.

Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly has been released from Shah Rukh Khan-owned Kolkata Knight Riders. But Chris Gayle has been retained in the KKR. The decision came as a surprise that Gambhir, who has performed well many a time, was not retained by Delhi Daredevils. But, Virender Sehwag name has been enlisted in the team.
