I don't think they are destroying much!!! Today everyone is a commercial channel. Even government channel National is also a commercial channel.

Even the so-called some spritual channels too are commercial! I don't think there is anything apparently wrong in being a commercial channel.
All channels are for commercial purpose.Without profit motivation no channel exists simply for service.

I too agree that commercialization is not a bad way...
It's not commercialization which is per se bad, rather the contents which involve so many other issues like social, legal and moral perspectives.
To some extent, I think commercial news channels are not doing any good to our country.

Take 26/11 terrorist attacks on Mumbai for instance, constant live coverage of the terrorist activities and the movement of police and NSG was more beneficial to the controller of the terrorists than it was to audience watching the news!
also most of the content on many news channels is unbelievable and is taking us back in time by hyping up news related to superstitions and malpractices of so-called religious cults!

Most activities including news reporting is for profit and thus news reporting is also commercial. Although the news channels are not and cannot destroy India, any deviation from honest reporting is unethical and undesirable.

This is 100% true, by repeatedly focusing on things which are of no use, they are destroying India.
I think the government is seized with the issue and some kind self-regulation is desirable in this regard.
