The intension of starting this game under this forum is to have list of all sport persons you know of, and how you know them?

For Instance, the following details are required for every sports person you name.
1. Name of the sports person.
2. Associated with which sport?
3. Achievements - At least one liner giving detail about one of the achievements in their respective sport.
4. Optional - photograph.

Jesse Owens, Athletics, 4 Gold Medals in 1936 Berlin Olympics, Was the first person to win 4 golds in track & field events in an Olympics (100m, 200m, 4X100m relay and Long Jump). This feat was equaled by Carl Lewis 48 years later in 1984 Los Angeles.

Viswanathan Anand

Viswanathan Anand is an Indian chess Grandmaster and the current World Chess Champion.
Anand held the FIDE World Chess Championship from 2000 to 2002. Anand is one of five players in history to break the 2800 mark on the FIDE rating list, and in April 2007 at the age of 37.

In 2008 he was awarded India's second highest civilian award, the Padma Vibhushan and being the first sport-person who got this award in Indian history. He is also the first recipient of Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award in 1991–92, India's highest sporting honour.

P.T. Usha

P. T. Usha is an Indian athlete from the state of Kerala.She is regarded as one of the greatest athletes India has ever produced and is often called the "queen of Indian track and field".
During the 1985 Asian Track & Field Meet at Jakarta, Indonesia, Usha secured 5 gold medals in the 100, 200, and 400 meter sprints, the 400 meter hurdles, and the 4 x 400 meter relay. She also earned a bronze medal in the 4 x 100 meter relay. This is the current record for most gold medals earned by a female in a single track meet.

Usain Bolt
The world's fastest man, Usain Bolt, will lead Jamaica's 4x100m relay team at the 2010 USA vs. The World at the Penn Relays on April 24. Bolt, the world record holder at 100m and 200m, powered Jamaica's 4x100m relay to a world record time of 37.10 at the Beijing Olympics in 2008. With Bolt running third, Jamaica clocked a meet-record 37.31 at the 2009 World Championships.

Muttiah Muralitharan

He is the highest wicket taker in both One day internationals and test cricket. He has crossed 500 wickets in ODIs and 700 in Test matches. So the total number of wickets in both forms crosses 1200 which is really astonishing.
