Humour per se that may have facilitated learning, but (that) temperamentally 'smiley' babies were more likely to engage with the environment and therefore to attempt and succeed at the task.
Whether they have a sense of humor or not they keep us in splits with the things they say. I agree kids who smile are the ones who are able to interact better with the environment. The others may just be observers with very little sensory experiences.
