Rain water harvesting is one of the ways to save ground water level getting decreased. Restrict the companies who sell the water for money in the name of mineral waters. Govt should take the action in rain water should not be gathered in one place and it also not mingled with drainage. If proper planning is made the rainfall flowed on the road side will not get waste and increase the ground water level more.
In Karnataka Rainwater harvesting is mandatory while building ones own house or while building an apartment, in fact, even theose houses built without rainwater harvesting facility have been asked to implement it ...I feel that it is very essential to do so since it increases the ground water level besides making sure that all clean water gets used and reused
Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!

Industries are the largest consumers of water. They take in fresh water and discharge polluted water. Therearetechnologies avialble to treat many such polluted waters and they can then be recycled for reuse.it will release huge quantities of water for use by other sections of society.
If we save the polluted water before it reaches the river or ocean it will be good for the environment and we can save the water and that water will be pure.
Technologies are available for treating polluted waters and either recycling it or discharging it into rivers or oceans. However the industry considers such expenditures as extra and avoidable or unrecoverable. Laws have to be strictly implemented and social awareness has to increase. Water is going to become precious in fiture.
