There is no foolprof method to avoid rape. IT solution merely enables one to communicate with police, authrorities or frends and seek help. But meanwhile rape is over. The culprit can be punished but crime not stopped. The women actually need not to be alone with any male for any purpose. In the latest case, the woman did not go straight to her residence in public transport or in that provided by employer. she chose to go first to a pub and from there herself arranged a vehicle. The driver got opportunity to rape her. This could not be avoided. However, the culprit has been arrested. .

Hi,
Since we work in corporate world and only few of my friends have 'smart phones' , it is evident that these 'alert' can be based only as 'Applications' or 'apps' for users having android/IoS phones.
IT is very unfortunate that only women with smartphone can avail these facilities (examples WithU app)

Well said. Culprit may be caught and be punished. But these IT devices can stop the heinous crime of Rape? I sincerely feel, there should be a device that can alarm the possible victims before hand. The warnings may be in any form. Eg, "It's midnight. Ask any of your friends to come and lift you." etc.
I agree that people using smart phone and people who have installed the withu app can take advantage of at least informing their friends and relatives but this app may not prevent a crime completely. However, it can at least alert the near and dear ones and the police can come to the victim's rescue.
