corporal punishment in schools is mostly prohibited. But still there is angry and uncontrolled thrashing of students by some teachers. One teacher in J & K hit a student resulting in kidney damage.

Such things are really shocking. It is better to introduce corporal punishment instead. Corporal punishment is the way of punishing in an orderly way by Principal or senior teacher for certain offences without getting angry. On the other hand, angry beating instantly is very dangerous.

Corporal punishment is unlawful. Many teachers take punishment either by thrashing or by unnecessary cutting marks in answers sheets. They abuse and threaten students. FIR against these teachers should be immediately filed up.

Corporal punishment is unlawful. But this should be legal. Reward and punishment are necessary everywhere.

Corporal punishment and angry thrashing in rage differ. Corporal punishment and its quantum is decided with cool mind and properly given. This is painful but not cruel. Usually this is number of strokes with cane on palms or backside.

But angry thrashing may result in breakage of teeth, damage to kidney and loss of eyes. In J & K, student's kidney is damaged. This is indeed most cruel and deserves to be condemned. The teacher must be sacked as he has is not a teacher but a butcher.

corporal punishment is always bad. Parents and teacher interaction is more important to report if anything wrong.

Parents/ students meet is okay but this is not an alternative to corporal punishment. We almost daily hear cases of angry thrashing in schools. This is bad. Corporal punishment differs. This is systematic and properly executed.

Recently, a boy in my neighborhood has been rusticated from Kendriya Vidyalaya. He would always act in very objectionable manner and bully other class mates. He was warned several times. His parents could also not correct him. Schools can of course not correct in absence of corporal punishment.

There are many students who does not respect their teachers.Even they mock at their teachers. But that doesn't mean that teacher should beat them angrily or give them harsh punishment. They must complain their parents or the head of the school.

What will head of school do? If nobody can punish, what is the use of complaining?

There should be no thrashing angrily on the spot. Instead there should be a procedure for corporal punishment. A number of cuts with cane on palms or backside consistent with gravity of offence will suffice. There should be no punishment for weakness in study but acts of indiscipline like disobeying teachers, bullying class mates need be punished.

It is not good for any teacher to punish their students. In fact they should complain their guardian or inform the senior teacher of the school. They should not give any hard punishment to them.
