Calmness is state of mind. If you are worry less and feel good, you are calm. 'Quite' and 'silent' mean that there is no noise. So, if the class is shouting, teacher says- Keep quite or Keep silence.

Yes. i want to add something.
Calmness can be nature of a person also. We can say, he is very calm or he is of calm nature ....calm person etc.
Quite and silent have almost same meaning. Isn't it?

@Sarala

First correct the spelling of the word 'quiet'! Now coming to the shades of differences in these words,one has to mainly differentiate them on usages. In English like other languages,an entire lifetime is not sufficient to understand and master the art of usages. An author or writer by choosing the appropriate words fails or succeeds in conveying the ideas which he or she intends to put across. The apparent similarity in meanings of these words should not lead one to treat them as synonyms! A calm person is just not silent or quiet! Similarly a silent person is not calm or just quiet. He or she might be silent but in a turbulent state of mind!
I think quite means you doesn't want to hurt the feeling of others and silent means in different situation you keep yourself cool.....

Quiet- means being silent as in -keep quiet.
Quite- means perfect as in - I am quite well.
silent- means absence of noise- as in pin drop silence.

Not hurting others feelings and keeping cool are not the correct meaning. I suggest consult dictionary.
