Trinamool-Congress rift widens, challenge each other to quit alliance.

Chief minister and Trinamool Congress leader Mamata Banerjee on Saturday spat venom against her alliance partner saying that the Congress was free to pull out of the alliance if it decided to work in tandem with the CPM.

What do you think Mamata is right or wrong.

Neither Mamata nor congress is wrong. The difference is in approach. Congress as well as CPI(M) have a national outlook unlike Mamata who has only regional outlook. She may go even to extent of blackmailing the center for benefit of West Bengal. Congress and left parties are interested in entire country. This approach makes difference.

CPI(M) is not based on personality cult. This is not a family outfit like so many other organizations. They were supporting central government without any ministry. But Mamata Banerjee was interested in cabinet post and that too Railways. Their ideology is national as it can be seen from their discussion in parliament. They do not restrict themselves only to Kerala, Bengal and Tripura. We may not agree with their ideology but cannot blame for looking after their own interests.

Mamata Banerjee and her party are just regional outfits like DMK, AIADMK and we cannot expect them to care for interests of the entire nation. Thus there are bound to be differences among congress, a national level organization and TMC, a regional outfit. But unlike other organizations, TMC us unable to shed narrow partisan considerations at national level. Hence, there is confrontation between Congress and TMC.

In this connection, it can be hardly over stressed that Mamata Banerjee does not accept the responsibility of a coalition partner either at center or in state. In this connection, we may contrast the conduct of CPI(M) led left front that worked together in alliance for many decades. At center also, the left parties differed some times only on issues of national interest but never blackmailed UPA for narrow personal or any other interests. It appears that Congress- TMC honeymoon will not last long because of unreasonable and arrogant conduct of Mamata Banerjee.

Thanks Gulshanji for your explanation but I think in present situation TMC will not withdraw support from central for their own interest as they are getting many fund as a partner of central.

Now there is extreme bitterness between congress and TMC. Both parties are opportunist and may desert each other when convenient. Latest about both parties acrimony:
