I am a Marathi person and we call it Bhaubij in Maharashtra. All our family meet at a relative's place and celebrate it in a very grand fashion. We gift articles to each other and distribute sweets. The sisters light divyas and bless the brothers for their long life and the brothers give away various gifts to the sisters. It is a very auspicious occassion for all of us.
