Pen is mightier than sword. This is very popular idiom denoting power of the written word. This is also said that all civilized society are governed by books i.e. the pen- anstrument of writing. Sword and pen are just symbolic. Pen represents thoughts and sword represents muscle power. In Hindi we say- knowledge (pen) is mightier than buffalo (muscle power). Boddunan also says- Information creates wealth. Thus pen is the mightiest power in this world. Money power and muscle power are weaker. A man with brain can easily command money and muscle. Moreover, it is pen (knowledge) that guides as to what is right and what is wrong. Pen is the vary essence of civilization.
