    From experience I have to say three things.
    1)Look for a semi automatic rather than fully automatic.
    2) Don't select a type which has a spindle in washing tray (usually seen in whirlpool model)
    3) Always select a model with wheels.

    If you want to buy one in economic range, I think go for any model of IFB front loaded model.I have used it for the past several years and its looks are also fancy.

    What I heard from those use fully automatic machine is that it is highly vulnerable for easy damage.Also getting it changed takes time.So be careful.
