The government has already made law against dowry.The only thing it can do is to strictly implement the law.As far as public is concerned they can definitely take steps against it.Report to the police if you hear anyone giving or taking dowry .Protest against these greedy people.If you come across anyone torturing somebody for dowry in your locality or family come out strong against the torturer.Evils like dowry deaths can be ridden off only through public awareness on the subject.
dowry is also like bribe. In my view giving dowry means purchasing husband. this is really ridiculous. The dowry system should removed and if anyone giving dowry or taking dowry should be punished severely so that no other people demand for dowry
