I think time holds an important factor for the failure of solar cookers in India. Apart from that most of them manufactured in India are of inferior qualities and often seem to serve the customer for a long period of time...
The reason mainly is lack of awareness and easy availability of solar cookers. Although it does take a lot of time but that can be overcome easily as sunlight is available all day long in major parts of our country. As for other solar equipments, it is too expensive to be affordable by many.
