IT'S BEEN A LONG TIME, NOW I'M COMING BACK YEAH!
The good news - Viru is confident of making it for the tour of England. He had a goodish tour in 2002 (a century and an 80 in the tests) but was ignored by the selectors in 2007 (Jaffer, Dinesh Karthik and Gauti were the openers). The India - England series will be a humdinger (given England's success in the Ashes and comments by various English and Aussie experts, including Ian Chappell, Michael Atherton and Darren Gough, that England is the REAL no.1 - God, one Ashes win and the loud mouths start!). Viru will have a key role to play in the entire series and a fit, rejuvenated Viru is what WE need! He has the poorest test average (just 31) against the English and I am sure he would want to correct that big time.
