Manmohan Sing resides in Delhi. He originally belongs to Punjab. But he was made resident of Assam for contesting Rajya Sabha. Thus he became voter in Assam. He can vote there. But he would have to go there only for this. He had also to go to China for BRICS meeting. In these circumstances, he could not vote. This is not a serious matter. There is never 100% polling. Voting is also not comulsory or mandatory. Gujarat chief Minister unnecessarily raised this trivial matter.

Gulshan ji I dont agree
1.Even if he is from Punjab why didnt he contest from there in Rajyasabha coz thats political startergy to gain an entry to Parliament.
Atleast now he should have been faithful to the state from where he has been getting elected tso many times so easily whereas he should have been standing & sweating in some election.

I agree that manipulating risedence in Assam for Rajya Sabha membership was bad. But now the law is changed. Any one can now contest Rajya Sabha from anywhere. But not voting in assembly elections is not a serious matter. The voting is never 100%. There can be genuine reasons for not voting. Voting is also not compulsory or mandatory.

I agree that voting is not compulsory,But being a PM what example are you setting for youngsters in INDIA??Voting is not at all important?
It is a fundamental right & we should take pride in that. Its a weapon,Pleae dont play it down by making it appear un necessary.

It is not all necessary to put an example to the youngster by voting. Voting gives rights for every citizen of the country.but it is not all compulsory to vote.

Gujarat CM had raised it as a political gimmic only. One can vote or not according to his choice.
