What is the difference between Goal and Aim?

Goal is something that you wish to attain. Hence, you may say being doctor is your goal. Aim is the act of attaining goal. Thus goal: is target. Aim: is the attempt to get the target. Thus you have a goal but aim at the goal or target.

I think Gulshan has very well explained..To reach a goal one has to aim it is best example. :)
Although these two terms are used synonymously but these are patently different in their meanings- a goal has to be aimed!!
