Decimal system is the best system for calculations. Although this was known to India long ago, it is surprising why the system for measure, weight and currency was introduced in India in 1957 only. The introduction of decimal or metric system mad our calculations easier.
However, still time is measured in Hours, minutes and seconds. Will it not be proper to introduce decimal system here also. A year be divided into ten months, 100 weeks and thousand days. But there may be some practical difficulty. I invite members to consider how decimal system could be introduced for time measurement also.

There is a practical difficulty in implementing decimal system in time measurement because of the difference in unit values.
1 hour = 60 min
1 min = 60 sec
while in decimal system unit values are 10, 100, 1000, 10000 etc

We had everything in place, our ancestors had invented every system and studied every discipline imaginable and had developed the same that best suited our needs. But we lost all that somewhere midway and adopted it all again when it was presented to us by the westereners!

numeral system (also called base ten or occasionally denary) has ten as its base. It is the numerical base most widely used

We are understanding value of these things , when they are coming back to us vio westerners!!

Similar problem was there with measurement of weight, length and currency also but the units were changed in 1957.
Here I may add that real problem is that time is a natural phenomenon and is related to movement of sun, Earth, planets etc. A day equals rotating of Earth around its axis. a year equals rotation of Earth around the moon. Time measurement has to correspond to the planetary movements. A day must change after dawn. Introduction of decimal system in measuring time must take in account these factors and also has to be an international decision.
