remove one letter to make a word

Please make it clear, how many letters one can remove at one time.

My Word is Bring and am removing B and the word is Ring

see in CHAIR

   FIRST removing c then we get HAIR,again we removing h now we get AIR.Like that if u remove one letter from a word it should give meaning full word,Again you remove second letter it should give meaning full word .
