Hmm...there are lots of movies which are banned due to controversial plot although they may be interesting to watch them.
It's nothing short of throttling the "Freedom of expression." the golden rule is be a sycophant and Bhajans praising the Government.
Andhi relates to life of former prime minister and banned by Congress if I am not absolutely sure of this, in the first place why create such movies that would create such confusions why not create on simple issues like farmer or any other issues, no one wants to be in a state of jungle raj while allowing such movies.

A creative director has a right to express his view through his medium. I invite more such movies.
In india censorship rules are very strict and the number of banned movies are more than western countries.As an example movie "Last temtation of Jesus "was banned in India but not so in west and also shown in Italy.
In India the censor Board is not free from political interventions and the influential Producers' Guild. Unable to withstand these pressures many sincere Censor Board officials were forced to relinquish their posts
Yes if they find something wrong about their self or any controversial thing, they ban the movie even if it is having good potential.

Nobody can ban a picture after the approval of The Censor Board. But the members of Censor Board are pressurized by the politicians and influential Producers' Guild.
It differs from state to state in terms of rules of banning of movies, what is going on in west cannot be the same parameter of east, in the name of creativinty crossing the laxman rekha is not permitted in India.

Censor Board certificates shows whether it is for universal exhibition or Limited exhibition by the initials U and A
