I thought it's already being mixed with diesel. Ethanol which is an alcohol like product is mixed up to some fixed percentage from long time in India.

Well, if the whisky by-products are used to generate biofuel, nothing like it..though it is still in the nascent stage, so will have to wait and watch.

Yes. alclhol is used in man industries particularly cosmetics, medicine etc. This is called industrial alcohol. But using wiskey waste as fuel is a novel concept.
