Thanks a lot for posting this thread Gulshan! Sam Manekshaw was one of my idols and an inspiration in many aspects and he still remains my idol ! He was truly a fearless and one of the most honourable Army officers India is proud to have had!

The thread has revealed some interesting hitherto unknown facts about this Iconic General. His friend a doctor says how the name 'Sam Bahadur has come in to vogue though there is no '"Bahadur " in the general's name. Quite interesting thread sir.

The late field Marshal would have turned 100 today, if he were alive today. I salute patriotic Indian. Thanks for reviving memory of this great soldier of mother India.
