All we know of certain sects of Hindus- Arya Samajis, sanatani, Shaiva, Vaishnav etc.

Now we have a new class- Cyber Hindus. They are busy all time propagating saffron agenda and leadership, comments etc. Indeed they are a funny class.

I read the link. It's another arrow from the quiver of BJP, which is using technology to its advantage.
Very interesting story, it seems it is a constructed one nevertheless, the word Hindu is debatable, brought upon by Britishers, it is Sanatana, which can be said as correct, it seems, cong is more prone on negative factors such as calling feku or so, it should have focused on positive issues, EC have recognized the importance of social media, and there are discussions about within some years, the importance of electronic news channels will be minimized due to use of large scale social media.

The term' Hindu' and well as 'India' are derived from 'Sindhu' and 'Indus' . But presently, 'Hindu' is a religious community and understood as such. So there is no confusion.

I am not sure about Hindus but India is certainly the gift of likes of Columbus and Vasco da Gama. Wherever they went they found Indians. They have kindly changed the names to Aboriginals but You can find them everywhere in the USA, including North America, Australia, Caribbeans etc. Example- Red Indians, West Indians etc. It is basically Indigenous that later became Indian.

That's true. West indies is nothing but another India. Even in cricket team also we find the presence of India. Rampaul, shiv narin, Ramadhin are a few examples.

That was not my point, we can find Indian players in any cricket team from nay Commonwealth country. My point was the indigenous people of countries "invented" by westerner are known as Indians. Another point, as if the countries invented by Columbus etc did not have the population already or these countries had no cultures or histories of their own. They were all waiting to be called Indians. Red, Black or whatever. Now we call ourselves Indians proudly but they keep this word at par with idiots or slaves.

If India has Cyber Hindus then it also have Cyber Muslim and Cyber Christian. It sounds very strange. Computers are creating religion and castes. It should be e-religion and e-caste.

Very good comments!! As far as my knowledge goes interpreting 'Indus' with 'Hindus' is just one of many interpretations and this does not alone conclusively settle the issue!! If we could be tolerant with cyber Muslims or cyber Christian, why should be flaying the Hindu ones??

Friends in todays world, very few people believe in caste and religion barriers. People are fighting against racism and protesting against the religious barriers. Thus their is no religion, sect and caste. Many people don't know their sect and gotra.
Many people has done intercaste marriage. In such cases, children neither belongs to their mother's religion or caste nor their father's. Discovery of Cyber Hindu sect is of no use.
The very word 'Hindu' is a secular one and that's perhaps the reason it finds no mention in our religious texts. It does indicate the way of life of a geographical spread and all that!!
