Two sides of the coin. After living away from their families , they feel like living free and don't want to listen to anyone.. Sometimes right other times wrong...

I agree with that ! There are times when you wish you had remained single, then you think of the children and so many other things that come with a marriage ...Either way grass is always greener on the other side for all of us !

Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!

Single person also have social responsibility. We have family before marriage. Our parenets, and other family members.

Sometimes even more than those who are married ! I had an aunt who remained unmarried but took on the burden and responsibility of the entire family on her so much so that she had no time of her own until she died recently ! But we all have very fond memories of her..

Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!

Sometimes even more than those who are married ! I had an aunt who remained unmarried but took on the burden and responsibility of the entire family on her so much so that she had no time of her own until she died recently ! But we all have very fond memories of her..

There are more expectations from a single. As an unoccupied place becomes every one's property, a 'single' also becomes a common asset to all.

For some its the fear to take the responsibility of maintaining a family which they feel as a burden. For some its their inability to find a match of their dreams. And for many, “ its adherence to the norms laid out in scriptures in a man’s life. Out of the 4 stages of a man’s life “Grihasta Ashram” or married life is one.
As a married man I never had any regrets. I never envied a single man’s life. I got everything in my married life which a single man thinks that he would get by remaining single.

Living single is an escape from social responsibility. Living up promises is an essential to success. Person who stays single would realize one day when the hair becomes gray, search for partner still haunts him. It does affect his work and surroundings to a considerable extent.

This is also a very valid viewpoint. But there are some cases where single living is better. If one wishes to devote wholly to social causes or pursuit of science or some mission, being single is better. In an old movie, 'Saathi', the sickly wife quietly leaves so that her husband could devote time to his scientific work on advice of senior scientist.

If a person opts for single living to pursue a noble cause that contributes to the welfare of the society and the country, ther is nothing like it. It enables the individual to work with single minded devotion. Your 'saathi' example is appropriate.
