Some time back Congress vice president opined that poverty lies in mind. But there is also reverse connection between mind and poverty. Poverty disable you from rational decisions. If you have more money, you would decide better as you have resources to risk.

    poor person most of their time in thinking how to get food for one time. How he can think other things.

    Human tendency is, people think more about those things which are not in their possession. These thoughts make a permanent abode in a person.
    In this present case a person who lacks money will devote all his time trying to find ways to earn money. In this process there is every chance of losing reason and rationality.

    To some extent poor people keep thinking about their resources mainly related to survival but at the same time some of them find innovative ways, which can surprise even the moneyed people.

    They don't have power to apply mind. They have big families to feed. Very rare have mind developed to think about other things

    The great achievers generally belong to middle class families and not to super rich or those below poverty line. The middle class have ambitions unlike the super rich who are born great and also capacity to fulfill dreams unlike the very poor.

    Poor people neither stupid nor lack in ideas but the truth is that when rich people take a decision every one appreciate them, even if they aren't worth a dime- but in case of poor people's decision, no one is there to back him up.

    Poor have less money so does lesser nutritious foods and this affect rational thinking as it can develop the brain in half from child hood. Mind becomes half hazard and so does decision making, with poverty the literacy level is abysmal and this hinders progress as illiterate persons tend to be attracted more towards indecision. This spells doom for them.

    Children from middle class family achieve more. This may be because unlike poor, they are not deprived of opportunities incentive for advancement.

    I have thousands of examples where persons from very poor section made it to top and still remained very honest. It is all about willingness to achieve, although food and money play their role.

    I have thousands of examples where persons from very poor section made it to top and still remained very honest. It is all about willingness to achieve, although food and money play their role.
    During my matriculation one of class fellows was from a extreme poor family and he used to seat under street lights to study, he is successful. There are instances probably exceptions.
