I guess they too have a right to pursue their profession and why not if it is done in an organised manner ....When we actually look at the profession it is an entertainment and relaxation for those who visit bars but of course it does take on other forms when there is no legal sanction to it...

I guess they too have a right to pursue their profession and why not if it is done in an organised manner ....When we actually look at the profession it is an entertainment and relaxation for those who visit bars but of course it does take on other forms when there is no legal sanction to it...

There is always possibility of some unlawful activity. For this any profession or enterprise is not banned. Bar dancers may turn to other indecent offers and activities. But this is so with any enterprise. even school teachers are not immune. So, bar dancer or any other job should not be banned.

Here in AP, there are no such restrictions on the dancers who perform in the Bars and Pubs.

Government stopped this according to the best of their judgment. But Supreme Court has ruled that bar dancers have a right to their livelihood from the profession. The profession can be regulated. Maharashtra government is still firm on decision to ban bar girls. They are studying the apex court decision. They may amend the law.

Bar dancers have right to work as long as it is a licenced bar for the purpose and they are not active in illegal activities. No one can stop a legal worker displaying their art in an authorized place.

True....but the problem here is that we cannot neglect the human trafficking that goes on to bring the girls into these bars. Similar to the prostitution, illegal trafficking of minor girls is a big industry and has links with underworld mafia. Also, we cannot avoid the fact that thousands of families have been brought on the streets because men in their homes sold off their homes and belongings to throw money on these dancers!

Yes, unless such professions are legalized, not much can be done to check other related problems attached with these professions, but since there so much hypocrisy involved in our culture, we can probably never see that day.

Most developed countries respect right to work as they like openness. I am hundred percent sure no law in the world can stop the oldest profession of the world, so why ban it. Banning only increase corruption and lures human into experiencing a hidden joy. Openness lessens interest in such things. People find outlet in illegal activities if they are stopped by a law.
