There is no need to write useless details because a resume is introduction of your abilities, nothing more nothing less. A family background or your hobbies are least required items there.

I typed many resume for others. Writing about hobbies are very common. viewing TV or playing cricket. Resume should be in brief.
I agree with you, they have a bad impression on all of us, but nowadays the food and nutritions are not pure and don't even grow in the pure condition because most of the farmers use chemicals to grow them fast, it's now the need of today.
