During normal conditions one can very well do with 6 -7 hours of sleep but when you are very exhausted or have had some health problem, then the more you sleep the better for the system to recover. I have seen some people sleeping 12 hours at a stretch when they are really exhausted...

12 hours sleep only possible when stretched otherwise it is bad also to health.


I have seen many of my friends who has slept for more than 12 hours. It is really not good. This makes us little obese.


On the other hand I have read that sleeping in fact is good fro reducing because it cuts down on hunger and your eating capacity to that extent...

But,when we wake up after long time, then we eat double the amount of food.

Normally i sleep 6-7 hours on week days and on Sunday's i sleep 12-14 hours. i don't think it is bad for health. :huh:

@Vinodh... 12 - 14 hours...!! don't you think that is quite more.. Even if someone is sleeping for 8 to 8 which is for 12 hours then also it is quite more and you are telling you are sleeping that much or even more (on weekends) ...

Not all days, only on weekend that too on sunday only. :)

yes it is correct. i sleep 12-14 hours only on sundays. on weekend i sleep only 5 hours daily.

8 hours sleep is good not more then that but sometimes if don't get chance to sleep the previous day, we sleep like that 12 hours or more..
Sleeping for more time is not good and sleeping for less time is not good. 5 to 6 hours sleep is a healthy sleep which makes a person healthy
