6 hours of sleep is sufficient for an adult. For kids, they require 8 hours of sleep.
A little longer sleep will also avoid overeating with resultant benefits.

Well that's a new information to know but most of us have improper sleeping and eating habits now-a-days.. maybe due to our professional demands and lifestyle.
Good informative article, and it makes sense in a way....Sleep is very essential for all of us and if it also helps us in keeping ourselves fit as well.In fact growing children and teenagers need to sleep an extra hour at least during weekends so that their metabolism and growth remains healthy...
I need at least 6-7 hours for sleep. I go to bed at 11:00 PM and get up at 6.30 AM
It is true that 6-7 hours of sleep is very necessary. But i don't worry about it. Sometimes i sleep 4 hours and sometimes 9 hours.

Now-a-days I am having sleep of 4-5 hours a day. I know it is not good for health. Today is Diwali. Due to crackers, I think i will be having 3-4 hours of sleep today.
Sleep is a personal specific demand. Some people sleep for 8-9 hours at a stretch while some others find a 5-6 hours sleep sufficient. I find a six hours sound sleep perfect for myself.


I don't measure my sleep in terms of hours. I sleep a sound undisturbed sleep for 6 hours. I work for 12 hours without fatigue. I'm at the pink of my health
I am free from 5 months, so i have become little bit lazy. I sleep for more than 7 hours. :P

No man... Who says its dangerous.. Although not considered good to have more than 7-8 but its not dangerous atlest..

Actually this is another wide subject with scope for a long discussion as different age group, gender, in particular areas people need sleep of different duration and more pointed on quality sleep, that's true up to a great extent.However, people can shape themselves as per their own needs of sleep and still remain fit.

No I never sleep for more than 1/2 an hour in a day, I mostly sleep during night time that too after 2am.
He he.. Yes may be I am sleeping little long.. But I need 7 to 8 hours of sleeping.. I don't know whether it comes under healthy one or not.

No I never sleep for more than 1/2 an hour in a day, I mostly sleep during night time that too after 2am.

Sir 6-7 hours sleep is necessary and we should take rest at night to remain fit.
