Many girls are beautifull but they are dark and not fair. Bollywood has now started ignoring the fair complexion is good news. Acting has nothing to do with complexion. Moreover, Bollywood needs style, fashion, boldness and glamour.
Its good to know that color has nothing to do in films its only acting which matters in the films. :)
For example Nandita Das who is clssy actress known for her acting though she is dark colored skin unlike other actresses but still she was liked by everyone for her acting. :) There are many others like Bipasha.Sridevi and Hema Malini were not fair but they were the top heroines of their time. :)
What about Smitha patil? I think Sabhana Azmi also doesn't belong to the category of glamorous heroines. Yet both these ladies have placed themselves in an important place in Bollywood, only with the help of their talents.
There is one aspect that differentiates reel from real. Color of skin may matter in real life. But photography can affect in reel life. Photogenic personality differs. that is why screen test is conducted to see how one would look on screen. How one looks on screen is most important for film. Technology can change color and other effects. Ultimately, talent is important.
