Why is Indian society is defined as "Unity in Diversity"?

India is one nation and we are united as a nation. But the languages, dress, culture differ. This is diversity. Henced, our national unity is called unit in diversity.

All our Indian people are separated by religion but we are united by the word Indian.. Thats it..
India is the land where unity in diversity exists.Indian society is multilingual,multi religious and pluralistic in nature when it comes to religion.Indian social structure constitutes of various religions,sects and cults.People belonging from various religions have been living in india.

Indian nation is diversed in many aspects such as language,culture,life style,food etc but also united together.
It is so there are near about 28 states in india and each state people have different religions and different customs still we all said we are one therefore it is called so unity in diversity.
We find so many linguistic people living in harmony with each other in a society.
The no country in the world are having like our country many languages,cultures etc.When we are having different cultures we all stay in the one country so our nation is called "Unity in Diversity".
