Most of us loved to read newspapers, and expect most of these papers to be non-partisan and cover non-partisan news in general. On the other hand this link of 2013, shows us most of top media houses specific tilt towards specific political thoughts and parties.

That has always been the case, Since Independence until PV Narasimha Rao took over as PM the National papers could not criticise or write anything against the ruling party. Now there is freedom of press but they too are human and are bound to have some leaning or the other..

Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!

Expecting impartial news and views from the Indian news papers is nothing short of chasing mirage in a desert. Barring few, like Newyork times, India most of the print media is either owned by political parties or patronized by political parties.

We can attribute this political leaning of newspapers to the fact that the newspapers are now owned by industrialists who always have their own personal leaning and relationship with one or the other political parties.

Every newspaper subscribes to some political thought.  This is okay so far as articles/ editorials are concerned. But the newspapers must report the news correctly and without bias. But many papers even distort the news and present according to their prejudices. There are even paid news, which is worst.

@ Gulshanji . You are right having affiliations is not bad as long as the news is not distorted. But that's not happening presently. Most of such papers are coming up with their one-sided views .

I agree, paid news is the worst crime that newspapers indulge in and I don't think even a single newspaper is present in the country today that does not promote or condone paid news.

It is a serious issue, fourth pillar of democracy must remain impartial in order to provide proper checks and balances.

There is freedom of expression. Under this guise impartial news goes on and on.

It is wonderful business to be owner of newspaper as with it revenue generations not only comes from advertisements but also from other sources!!!
