Recently Indian cricket team is missing their big cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Laxman, Harbhajan Singh, etc. But are we really missing them right now? Well, they will surely miss by lots of Cricket fans. But truth is right now Indian team is doing quite well even without those big names. Thanks to few young players which are doing really well for Indian Cricket and get settled in Indian cricket team well. They are performing so well that Indian team is now world ranking one in One Day Cricket game. Not only that Indian team also won ICC Champions Trophy 2013 first time with help of these young players. Let me tell you about few young players which have become now star of the Indian Cricket team.
Shikhar Dhawan: Shikhar Dhawan is a Delhi boy who has started his first class career in 2004 playing for Delhi. He has to wait for long time for getting chance in playing international game with Indian eleven. But in 2010 he got chance in Indian Cricket team, but he wasn’t able to do anything great. So he got dropout immediately after few games. As per news at one stage he was about to leave his cricket career because of not getting any success even he has good talent. But at last he got chance in test Cricket against Australia and in his debut match he scored century which was the fastest century made by any player in his debut match. So that was the game when he came into lime light and so far he is doing really well. Because of his great form he got selected in ODI matches too for playing into ICC Champions Trophy in 2013. Well, He just continued his great form in this tournament and scored back to back two century against South Africa and West Indies. In this tournament he scored highest run and got the Golden bat award. So he has already become important opener for Indian Cricket team. He has taken place of Gautam Gambhir which was out of form since long time. So as per his current performance this player is having very bright future in Indian Cricket team.
Ravindra Jadeja: Ravindra Jadeja is an all-rounder cricketer for Indian Cricket team. He is left handed batsman and slow spin bowler. This player was part of the under-19 cricket team which has won the world cup in year of 2008. After that he became part of Indian cricket team but due to mix performance he saw lots of in and out from the team. He came in the lime light again when he scored triple hundred three times in the first class cricket. He also played very well in the IPL which force selectors to select him again in the Indian cricket team. In starting he had started spin bowling as part time bowler. As per news at one stage he thought about leaving bowling and only concentrates on batting. But thank god he didn’t do that because now he is doing wonderful as all-rounder in Indian cricket team. Recently in ICC Champions Trophy 2013 he took highest wickets in the tournament and got the Golden ball award. Let me tell you he also doing great with batting these days for team India. Indian team was missing a good all-rounder since long but now it is having one good all-rounder which can do really well with both bowling and batting. So he is having great future ahead too.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar: He is young swing medium fast bowler. He has started is domestic career in 2008. He became the first bowler who has out Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar on duck in first class cricket. He plays for Uttar Pradesh in first-class cricket. He also plays IPL for Pune Warriors right now. Indian team is always missing good bowling attack. Bowling is the weak point of Indian team. But with Bhuvneshwar Kumar and few other new bowlers now India is having good bowling attack. Bhuvneshwar Kumar is not having that much pace in his bowling. He is medium fast bowler. But his main weapon is his swing bowling. After Irfan Pathan and Praveen Kumar India was missing one good swinging bowler but now this place can be filled with this new young bowler. He can bowl swing bowling in both direction which is producing very good result for him. Right now he is opener bowler for Indian Cricket team. And he always uses to take early wickets in his early spell. So in the end he is doing quite well for Indian team with new ball. He is having nice future for team India. Hope he will able to perform like this consistently.
Rohit Sharma: He has always stayed in the selectors mind and he got praised by many senior players for his talent. He has always played well in the domestic cricket for Mumbai team and gets attention from many. But somehow he didn’t able to play same that well for international cricket. I don’t know but maybe he is unlucky that even he his having great talent and good first class career he wasn’t able to play good for Indian cricket team. He made debut in Indian Cricket team in his 20 age but due to his inconsistent performance he always keep getting and losing his spot on Team. But in 2013 IPL by chance he was able to get captainship of Mumbai Indian team because the main captain RickyPonting was injured. He grab this opportunity and by his own and his team performance Mumbai Indians able to win the IPL first time. This time Indian team was missing good opener because of bad form of Virendra Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir. Because of Rohit’s good performance in IPL selectors once again tried him as opener in ICC Champions Trophy and this time he was able to perform well as opener and give couple of good opening partnerships with Shikhar Dhawan. Thanks to him and other young players India managed to win the trophy without getting single defeat. Rohit Sharma was good with his bat from starting but he wasn’t consistent. But hope he will be consistent this time. He is a good fielder from the starting which is another strong point for him as fielding surely matters in today’s cricket.
Dinesh Karthik: This player has entered as wicket keeper in Indian Cricket team. Actually he has made his debut in Indian Cricket team very early in his career in 2004 year. But due to his up and down performance he keep getting and losing his spot in team India. Another main reason is that Indian team is already having really great wicket keeper MS Dhoni (Indian Team Captain), so it is really hard for any other wicket keeper to get that spot. But still he was able to perform well in 2013 IPL with Mumbai Indian team. Due to his good performance in IPL he was able to get his spot back in Indian team as a batsman. He is actually wicket keeper but still with his hard work he was able to get spot in Indian team as good batsman and as normal but good fielder. In ICC Champions Trophy 2013 he gave really good performance with his batting and able to impress all the selectors to continue him in next tri series against Sri-Lanka and West-Indies which is ongoing currently. So if we think about alternate wicket keeper he is the first choice after Dhoni for Indian Cricket team. No other Keeper is that good after Dhoni. So he can keep getting place as extra wicket keeper and as a good batsman in Indian Cricket team.
So this is it. Indian team is keep getting such good new talents whenever it required. They all perform well and proof is that Indian team was having no senior player in the squad in ICC Champion Trophy 2013 but still India able to win the trophy with this young squad thanks to all above young player with their good performance. Hope they will continue their good performance and will be consistent.
