"Rahul Dravid" is a name which Indian people won't forget for a long time.He is technically one of the best batsman in the world. He was the backbone of Indian cricket for almost 10 years. He maynot be in sublime touch in the last 2 years but still he deserves a lot for what he has done for Indian cricket..Unfortunately for him,Most of his career has been overshadowed by SachinTendulkar who is "The God of Indian Cricket".But if you see the the number of matches in which India won(in tests) because of Dravid, the truth stands out.Dravid's average is higher overseas compared to home which shows his ability to adjust to any conditions. He is nicknamed "THE WALL" or "MR DEPENDABLE" and the reasons are obvious. But if you ask a question whether he was given the credit he deserves, the answer would be "NO".And this answer can be expalined.Whenever Rahul plays plays well, someone else in the team would play well and take the credit away from him.Rahul's gameplay is bascially defensive, you won't get to see Rahul hammering the ball to the boundaries many times and this make his game boring sometimes. His strike rate is a bit less.Whereas players like Sehwag,Sachin can always hit the ball a long way which is the only factor that Rahul lacks. But I would say confidentally that his style of play suits Test cricket perfectly and it's ok for ODI cricket too. Now,He is recalled back in to the ODI squad bearing the youngsters owes to short pitched bowling.Dravid is a constant learner in cricket and his hardwork, decication for it are just amazing. He can be a true inspiration for younger cricketers.I wish that Rahul gets his due credit by the time he retires and may he quit International cricket in great style.
