While the entire cricketing world is concentrating on Indian Premier League, the explosive Virender Sehwag has silently taken over the top spot in ICC Rankings. No Indian batsmen with the exception of Sachin Tendulkar deserved the top spot more than Sehwag. The dashing opener has been the biggest match winner for India in Test Matches ever since he made his debut. Other Indians in top 10 in Test Rankings are Gautam Gambhir on 6th spot and Sachin Tendulkar on 7th spot.
Indian Skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni is still in possession of the top spot of the ODI rankings which he has been holding for quite some time now. The only other Indian in top 10 in ODI rankings is Sachin Tendulkar on 5th spot. In fact Sachin Tendulkar is the only Indian to be ranked in the top ten in both forms of the game which speaks a lot about his consistency and adaptability.
Bangladesh's Mr. Dependable Shakib Al Hassan occupies the second spot in ODI rankings for bowlers which is led by New Zealand skipper Daniel Vettori while fast bowler Dale Steyn holds the top spot in Test Matches. Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hassan is ranked number one in ODI rankings for all rounders and is way ahead of his nearest competitors in rating points by a long distance.
