Charity practice is for helping poor and handicapped.
poor people
Charity is one of the greatest virtues
- It is the results of a sense of love, sympathy and goodwill.
- It is the one quality that is highly loved and appreciated by God
- Charity is giving alms to the poor and needy
- A charitable person is always kind to others who are helpless and miserable.
- Again charity is not forced. It should be willing done.
*God loves who practice charity. Such charitable persons are near and dear to God. You know the story of the happy prince who gave away all his gold to the poor and hungry. After his death, he was given a place in heaven. God considered him one of the two most precious things on earth. So, God bless men of charitable disposition.
Some people practice charity expecting some return. A wealthy man, for instance, may offer a huge amount for an orphanage. But he puts a condition that the orphanage should be demand after him. Such a conditional charity is no charity ay all. It is not charity but just a bargain. This is false charity. It never pleases God. Charity should be free from any selfish motive. It should be above self. Again, some people love name and fame. They practice charity hoping to earn a good name and success of life. This is all conceit. True charity shall no conditions attached. It should be free and open, and without tags attached. It must be done without the glare of publicity.
It is not a very great thing if a wealthy man grows charitable and helps the poor and the needy. But it is the great virtue, if a poor man offers all the little he has. Suppose a man earns his food after a day’s hard toil. He is about to eat his food. Suddenly a starving beggar approaches him and begs. The man gives away all the good he has. He thus prefers to go without food for the day. This is the charity. It is not the thing that is given away in charity that counts. It is the spirit behind that charity that counts.
There is another aspect to this charity. We should be charitable to only deserving people. Sometimes most undeserving people beg for charity. If we help such fellows, they very meaning and purpose of charity is lost. Charity should not be misplaced. Misplaced charity goes always against the true spirit of charity. Charity misplaced is charity misused and abused.
So, learn to practice charity. Help the poor, the needy and the suffering. Do your best to relieve them of their suffering. But never except is any return for your charity. Again, charity should not be confirmed to human beings alone. Animals too deserve our charity.
Family is an interaction based unit with diverse and dynamic intra family relationships. Family plays a very important role in the development of a person and it has rightly been said the comer-stone of the human society. Family is a universal social phenomenon. The universality of the family can be accounted for by the indispensable functions it performs and the difficulty of ensuring the performance of these functions by any other social group. The fundamental functions of a family may be grouped in four categories: the sexual, the economic, the reproductive and the educational. The other functions of the family include socialisation, health care, civic awareness, social regulation, recreation and religious function. The most important role of a family is in socialisation. It is the family wherein a child is born. A long stay with the parents and other relations, because of his dependency on them, inculcates the emotional bond between the child and elder members of the family. And, here the child gets the earliest and the most fundamental lessons in socialisation. He is mentally formed according to the norms of the society, which get ingrained in him to re appear in his adult life as conscience and super-age. Further, authoritarian and equalitarian units of family, supply cultural traditions and other natural elements required for socialisation.
A joint family is a collection of more than one primary family, on the basis of close blood ties and common residence. Alternatively, “a joint family is a group of people who generally live under one roof, who share the common kitchen, who hold all property in common, take part in common family worship and are related to one another as some particular type of kindred.” This definition refers to an ideal situation of family in terms of its corporate character. In structural terms, joint family implies living together of members of two or more elementary families both lineally and laterally. When a joint family consists of grandparents, parents, grandsons and daughter, it is called a lineal joint family.
The joint family system is more popular with agriculturists compared to industrial settings because the advantage of a productive unit provided by the joint family. In addition, the joint family system ensures satisfaction of basic needs of all its embers. The unemployed, old, orphans, widows and disabled are, thus, protected from and odd. Members of a joint family share the responsibilities according to their capacity and each work are thus distributed, thereby each member spares enough time for leisure. In spite of these advantages, the joint family system is gradually losing grounds.Self confidence is yet another virtue help one to achieve –the goal. Confidence in one’s own self brings courage and hope. Faith in one’s own abilities and capacities urges one to nobler ideals of life. But lack of confidence is leads to failures and disappointments. Therefore have confidence in yourself. Trust you’re self. Never lose hope. Therefore have confidence in your self. Trust yourself. Never lose hope, in spite of odds. Failures and disappointments should always drive you on to action with redoubled vigor and hope. You should not give in to despair, in the face of failure.
Sometimes you do not know yourself. You do not realize is your capacity or capability. On such occasions, you are given to doubt and despair. You are being to feel that all your efforts go waste. You will not succeed in realizing your ambition. If these doubts and fears get the upper hand, you are doomed forever. You cannot do anything. On the other hand, you h get the better of your fears and doubts. You should encourage your self to put up your best. You have to take the failure as challenge and March forward with courage and confidence. Then, none can stop you reaching your noble end. So, never lose confidence in your self. Never doubt yourself.
All the explorers of the past like Columbus never lost confidence. They had an inexhaustible confidence in themselves. They never shirked to face dangers and odds. Their companions who were weak willed could not stand the troubles any more. Their confidence could not hold any longer. So, they deserted their leaders. But, was the leader disturbed in the least? -No, not at all. He persisted. He stopped not till reached his goal.
In the recent past, so many efforts were made to explore other planets. Initially, scientists faced many problems. There were failures. There was loss of life too. But the scientists – did they lose their confidence? –no. they continued their efforts. They never gave up. They rested not till they were successful. That was how man landed on the moon. That man how the scientists sent an unnamed spacecraft to the distant Mars. Thus confidence was at the base of their success. The same can be said of any great achievement.
However, a note of caution is necessary. Self-confidence gives you courage and hope, leading to success. But overconfidence is dangerous. Overconfidence makes you careless and rash. And anything done in a rash and careless manner ends up in misery. Too much of confidence is always suicidal. Therefore avoid such weakness. Overconfidence is like a hidden enemy. It is like an enemy hidden in you. It is this overconfidence that bad brought about the downfall and ruins of many a great ruler of the past. A great man ruining himself due to such overconfidence is Hitler, the German dictator. He suffered from overconfidence and led his forces against the Allied Forces. And this result in his defeated and ruin. Hitler’s fall should be a lesson to all those who suffers from overconfidence.
The blue jean that every 2nd person wears as a symbol of “modernity” is of Indian origin. Not many people know of it. Infact, the hegemonic view that hit the symbol so hard that the people are bound to believe what comes down to them. The term “denim” might have been introduced years later as a substitute for “blue jeans”. In Hindi it was called “dongre” which today is known as a “thick cotton cloth”. This thick cloth was usually worn by workers in industries.
The blue color was given to the cloth by dying it in indigo color which is of Indian origin, named after India. After the process of weaving, felting etc the cloth was sold to the foreign traders. The largest purchaser was of course the East India Company. The birthday of blue jeans was when in the 16th century the Portuguese purchased the thick cloth of Indian origin.
