Charity practice is for helping poor and handicapped.
poor people
Charity is one of the greatest virtues
- It is the results of a sense of love, sympathy and goodwill.
- It is the one quality that is highly loved and appreciated by God
- Charity is giving alms to the poor and needy
- A charitable person is always kind to others who are helpless and miserable.
- Again charity is not forced. It should be willing done.
*God loves who practice charity. Such charitable persons are near and dear to God. You know the story of the happy prince who gave away all his gold to the poor and hungry. After his death, he was given a place in heaven. God considered him one of the two most precious things on earth. So, God bless men of charitable disposition.
Some people practice charity expecting some return. A wealthy man, for instance, may offer a huge amount for an orphanage. But he puts a condition that the orphanage should be demand after him. Such a conditional charity is no charity ay all. It is not charity but just a bargain. This is false charity. It never pleases God. Charity should be free from any selfish motive. It should be above self. Again, some people love name and fame. They practice charity hoping to earn a good name and success of life. This is all conceit. True charity shall no conditions attached. It should be free and open, and without tags attached. It must be done without the glare of publicity.
It is not a very great thing if a wealthy man grows charitable and helps the poor and the needy. But it is the great virtue, if a poor man offers all the little he has. Suppose a man earns his food after a day’s hard toil. He is about to eat his food. Suddenly a starving beggar approaches him and begs. The man gives away all the good he has. He thus prefers to go without food for the day. This is the charity. It is not the thing that is given away in charity that counts. It is the spirit behind that charity that counts.
There is another aspect to this charity. We should be charitable to only deserving people. Sometimes most undeserving people beg for charity. If we help such fellows, they very meaning and purpose of charity is lost. Charity should not be misplaced. Misplaced charity goes always against the true spirit of charity. Charity misplaced is charity misused and abused.
So, learn to practice charity. Help the poor, the needy and the suffering. Do your best to relieve them of their suffering. But never except is any return for your charity. Again, charity should not be confirmed to human beings alone. Animals too deserve our charity.
