 Lawyer; "De-graft Afful Jr.

what do you have to say

about neglect her feelings?"

De-graft; "Well it wasn't my intention

to do so, I was threatened by

her brother and just walked

away for my own well being,

and also to preserve my

father's trust in me."

Lawyer; "So you're saying you didn't

break her heart at all."

De-graft;"Yes, I only obeyed

a direct order. It is as simply

as that, but was mistaken

for romantic maltreatment."

Lawyer;"Do you sir,

know that she loved you

with all her heart?"

De-graft;"Yes I do. In fact, that

is why we were in a relationship

for five years?"

Lawyer; "How did you meet her?"

De-graft;"I met her in church,

I was a first year in junior high school

at the time."

Lawyer; "How would you describe

your relationship with her?"

De-graft; "As deep as love, she was

the only girl I had the confidence

to woo. My conscience always

told me that if I didn't go talk

to her, I wouldn't be able

to listen to the word of God,

even though I was in church,

and that my eyes would be fixed

on someone other than the pastor."

Lawyer; "Are you sure you didn't flirt

with any other girls while with

her?"

De-graft;"No. I'm not a player,

besides I am not good at

wooing girls, how much more

wooing more than one. She

was the only one I had the

confidence to talk to."

Lawyer;"How many female friends

do you have?"

De-graft;"To be frank,

I have many, but to me

she was very unique."

Lawyer;"Did you sleep

with her?"

Defendant;"Objection, my colleague

is prying into my client's privacy."

Judge;"Objection overruled, you may

continue with your question."

Lawyer;" De-graft, I repeat,

did you sleep with her?"

De-graft;"No. She was a very good

girl and I respected her. I did not

want to take away her innocence."

Lawyer;" That it what you

all say, but I say you're lying!"

De-graft;"If you think so,

you can ask her yourself,

I know that even though

she persecutes me..."

Judge;"Just answer the questions

and stop adding remarks!"

Lawyer;"Is it true that you

liked one of her friends?

De-graft;"Me? and what is this

so-called friend's name?"

Judge; "Will you stop being

damn sarcastic?"

De-graft;"To be honest, I did,

but I did not approach her

because I loved her friend

dearly and wanted to stay with her."

Lawyer;"De-graft, you are a very

good liar. Your X's friend bears

witness to the fact that you

were making passes at her

in church."

De-graft;"Yes, but not all

the time, like I told you,

I had some affection for her

but didn't encourage

because I didn't want to

break my X's heart."

Lawyer;" Who was your

closest female friend?"

De-graft;"I have a lot

of close female friends."

Lawyer;" You mean girlfriends?"

De-graft;"No, not girlfriends. Just

friends that are female."

(court laughs)

(Lawyer smiles with glee)

Lawyer;"How many times

did your X's friend visit

you at home?"

(I reply in anger)

De-graft;"It is none of

your freaking concern."

Judge;"Watch your tongue,

gentleman or you shall be

loaded with more charges!"

De-graft;"She visited me

scarcely. Upon the time

when I was with her friend

she visited me twice. She was

very loyal to her friend, I must say."

Lawyer;"Aha! Very typical

to give a compliment about

someone you don't like!"

(Sarcasm)

De-graft;"Stupid lawyer!

I said I liked her but

did not act upon my feelings."

Judge;"Gentleman, I will

ask you to watch your tongue

for the last time!"

Defendant;" Your lordship,

my colleague is asking

unnecessary questions,

let us go straight to the point."

Lawyer;"Ask necessary questions

like what, like how your wig stinks?"

Judge;"ORDER! I will not

have anymore of this insolence!"

Both lawyers; "I apologize your lordship."

(I laugh hoarsely and murmur

to myself)

"His wig doesn't stink, it

just releases an unwholesome

stench. Foolish defendant,

serves you right for your poor

defence. Hahaha!"

(Judge stares at me, I clear my throat)

De-graft;"MMM!"

Lawyer;"Shall we also call, De-graft's

X's brother to the platform, your lordship."

Judge;"Permission granted."

(Stupid lawyer sits down my

oblivious lawyer (defendant) rises

to ask that brute questions)

Defendant;" May I ask,

why did you threaten De-graft?"

X's brother; " They had been

in a relationship for too long

and she was also disturbing

my sleep with phone calls."

Defendant;" How regular

were the phone calls?"

X's brother; "Nonsensically

regular, but it was she

who called him, because

he didn't have a phone

at the time."

De-graft; "I promised to

call her after I had a phone

the following year and you

didn't allow me to fulfill

the..."

Judge;" Shut up! Your would-have-been

in-law is talking."

(court laughs)

X's brother;" You were taking

advantage of her.

De-graft; " ME? I would

never do anything like that

to hurt your sister."

X's brother;" Big liar, have you

forgotten I was your senior in

high school?"

De-graft;"Yes and you were

the most magnificent womanizer

that ever lived!"

(court laughs vehemently)

Judge;"ORDER! ORDER!

De-graft, you getting irksome!"

De-graft;"Your lordship,

I very well, know that,

if you were in my position,

you would keep quiet

and allow me to fight

for her love!"

then he stabbed me

with these words;

"De-graft Afful, you are hereby

convicted with painful tears,

and sentenced with heartbreak,

and an additional sadness

in amore prison for repulsive

attitude in court!"

My eyes closed upon the

world, that foolish judge

called destiny, he didn't

understand that my heart

was racing after the very

honey that persecuted me

Then sadness came,

the cop

and chained me with limitation,

there was a dry taste

in my mouth,

I had been defeated,

I wanted to hide myself from

the world,

and the wore the robe of insanity,

my head, dizzy in this painful reality

As saw her, leave the courtroom,

my glory,

I felt deep within me,

it was not her choice to

bring me to court,

that ballistic brother of hers,

she left with tears,

she tried to hide,

but my heart saw them,

it was solemn with a silence,

and my lips spread out

with a hopeful smile,

but looking at the door,

and the heavy sentence

I had to carry,

wounds began to form,

regret,

insecurity,

paranoia,

pain,

and the death of my soul,

I became...

a convict of the heart.
