Savita and Kavita were walking to school. As they were nearing their school, Savita heard a faint cry from the roadside. She saw an old woman sitting alone.
Savita felt pity for the woman. She asked her why she was crying. The woman said she had eaten anything for the last two days. She was both hungry and thirsty. She had no relatives and friends to take care of her. Savita gave her Tiffin box to eat food. And she gave her water battle to drink. She took the old woman to an old –age home se knew. Savita requested them to look after her. They readily took her in.
When Savita reached Scholl, it was very late. She explained to her teacher the reason for being late. She thought the teacher would punish er. Instead, to her surprise, the teacher praised her for her kindness to the old woman. She advised the other students to be kind to the poor who had no one to support them.
Kindness is the ability to care for the weak and the needy. It is sharing the grief of others. When you are kind, you are filled with mercy. You are concerned with the feelings and suffering of others.
Learn to be kind to old, sick ad weak people. Old people were young once. They could do whatever they wanted then. But now they need help. There are many people who have lost their eyesight. If you find them waiting to cross the road, help them. God has given you eyes. Use them to help others who cannot see.
There are many who suffer from hunger and poverty. Be kind to them. Give them whatever you can.
You also need to be kind to animals. Since animals cannot speak, you do not know the pain they experience. All living beings are God’s creation. They also feel pain as you experience. Be kind to them and love them.
*Always be kind to old, weak and sick people. Help them as much as you can. If you are kind to others, God will be kind to you.
