People not only differ in looks and behavior, but also have different personalities, likes and dislikes. Dislike something doesn’t always mean that it is not good.
Like: - there are certain smells which are strong and unpleasant. But, if you analyze the situation, you may not find it so.
Dislike: - garbage may smell bad to you, but what about the little boy who has to collect it daily as a means of livelihood? Does it smell bad for him too?
Cultural preferences
Sometimes living in diverse regions influences the likes and dislikes of people. The culture and customs of the people and the climate and food that grows in that place determine our preferences.
Gurunath lives in Gujarat. He loves to have makki ki roti and sarson ka saag along with Lassi made by his grandmother. His pen friend Varma lives in Bangalore and his favorite food is rice and Sambar. While Varma enjoys the light Sambar, he strongly dislikes the oily and heavy sarson ka saag and Lassi.
Sense at work
We all have our likes and dislikes. All of us like the fragrance of rose, but most us do not like the smell of garlic. Similarly, we may like the taste of rasgulla sweet much better than the taste of Kerala (bitter gourd). We prefer looking at a flower than at a thorny cactus. Listening to music is relaxing, but listening to blaring horns becomes irritating!
Did you know that all these preferences are decided by our sense organs?
The eyes see things around us; the ears listen to sounds, the nose smells, the tongue taste and the skin feels. What these sense organs absorb, tells us what we like and dislike.
Do you dislike any particular smell such as the smell of fish, garlic, egg or ghee?
