Scared of self

Of all the fears in life, being scared of self is perhaps the worst and most stinging one. One can keep his indecent deeds hidden from others but is it possible to hide those from self? One may try to forget these things for some shorter or longer duration of time but it is not possible to do so forever. It is easier to overcome the fears and insecurities created by others but very difficult to conquer the qualm and remorse of our inner self.

Sick of own cries

He wanders around

Worries of mind

Keep him tied to the ground

Can’t sleep well

Can’t eat and drink

Scare of self

Makes him shrink

Better mind our deeds

Beforehand, and in advance

Why be trapped?

In the deceptive trance

Fear of self

Is biggest of all

May make you flick

May leave you sick
