We all know what the relation is between man and the nature. But here we will see a completely different relation between man and the nature. That relation is of Teacher and Student. That’s right; nature is our greatest teacher that teaches us many important life lessons. We could learn something new every day from nature; we just have to be willing to learn.
The real credit for all the great achievements that human race have achieved today goes to nature. Nature taught Newton about gravity. Many inventions were inspired by nature. The strength of the arc that supports a bridge is inspired by the shape of the egg shell. The basic functioning of many engineering marvels is learned by observing the functioning of natural things. Birds taught us the basic science of aerodynamics, that later helped us to build jets and planes.
Apart from all this nature also teaches us many virtues which we could incorporate in our life to bring positive changes in it and hence lead a better life. Many great saints of the yore went into deep forest to learn the secrets of life. They later taught the society what they learned from nature in the forest and hence helped the human civilization to grow and advance.
Although this list could be very long, but here we will see five things that we should learn from nature.
1 Autumn doesn’t Mean the End of the Tree
Sometimes we go through very trying times in our lives. We feel like we have lost all control and everything around us is crumbling like the house of cards. Many people go into depression due to this and sometimes take some extremely stupid decisions, like suicide. But look at a tree during autumn. It has no leaves on it and appears dead. Does it really mean that it is dead? Of course not!
We all know that this is just a temporary phase. It is not permanent. That tree never gives up it always stands there fighting against the elements and waiting for the spring. The trees thrive again, with new leaves, during springtime. This is the rule of the nature.
Similarly if we have to face some difficult and destructive times then it doesn’t mean the end. Instead it is a sign that our lives are going to change and happiness is waiting just around the corner. Many great men achieved their greatness and reached their true potential only after a disastrous event in their lives. The only thing that helped them through the difficult times was their strong spirit and the will to fight. Only fire could reveal the true beauty of the gold.
Nothing in this life is permanent. Every situation would come to an end one day. We just have to stay strong and overcome our difficulties and in the end we will rise up and thrive again.
2 Lotus always Grows in Muddy Water
Lotus is the national flower of India. Lotus is considered a sacred flower by the Hindus because it symbolises purity. You could learn to lead a good and virtuous life and do positive things in life, even when you are surrounded by injustice and violence. Just like a lotus remains untouched by its surrounding dirty environment, in the same way never let your morals and principles be affected by the wrongdoings and injustices of the society. We should make our own identity that is independent of our surrounding circumstances.
You should never react to evil with evil. It will only make the situation worse. Mahatma Gandhi taught us the great lessons of truth and non-violence. He showed the world that using non-violence against violence could lead to victory.
3 River Flows from Top to Bottom
In the river, water flows from higher level to lower level. The river nourishes the lands that come across its path, without caring whether its level is high or low. In the same way in our lives also we should not discriminate people based on their status, when showing someone our love and respect.
We should never boast about our education or status in front of anyone because it is useless and could lead to envy. You should be humble and never disrespect anyone. Being superior doesn’t mean you have to dominate someone. It means you are strong enough to control your emotion and attitude. The most powerful man is a man who could control himself.
4 Sound Echoes in Mountains
When someone goes on top of a mountain and shouts out loud, then he could hear his own voice coming back from the mountains. We describe this phenomenon as Eco. This same principle is true for our life also. This means; we always get what we give to others.
The way we behave with others is the same way they would behave with us. That’s why when you give love and respect to other people and then only you will receive their love and respect. If you nurture ill feelings towards others then they will also reciprocate the same feelings towards you.
That’s the principle of life; In order to receive something you have to give that thing first. When you want to receive a smile, then smile at someone and they will smile back at you. If you want to be happy, make someone else happy and this act of kindness would fill your heart with happiness.
5 It takes Time for a Seed to Become a Tree
Just like it takes time for a tree to grow and reach its full potential, in the same way it takes time to achieve our dreams and goals in life. Nothing substantial happens overnight. We have to pay our dues before we could reap our rewards.
But some people cannot keep patience and they always leave a task unfinished. They give up way too early. These people regret and whine about missed opportunities later in life. So in order to achieve our life goals we not only have to work hard but we also have to be patient. With patience and persistence you could achieve success.
Conclusion
So these are the five things that we could learn from nature. But this list is endless and you could learn something new every day from nature. The important thing is you must follow the lessons that nature teaches you in your life and become a better person.
