It is essential for a man to have certain values in life. Life can be without values. There is no meaning of such life and there is no meaning in living such valueless life. These values build up our character. They form the foundation of our future. They install good habits in us. With the help of such values we can achieve all the goodness in this world and success will come running behind us instead of we following the success. This is because success always kisses the feet of men with good moral values. Some of such values of life are discipline, punctuality and honesty.
Discipline And Its Values:-
Discipline is a kind of training which is crown and glory of life. It helps a person to develop in himself self-control. Person becomes obedient and understands the importance of orderliness. It's importance cannot be described in an individual's life. Life without discipline is like a vehicle without brakes. A person without disciplined life will never lead his life in right direction and will not have self-control upon himself.
Discipline is essential for each and every one. It is necessary for a person as well as for an institution or organization. Thus, whole nation will become disciplined and in turn will lead to the formation of a disciplined world. Parents are the first ones to teach their children the basic principles of discipline. They can install in them good habits and lead them to the path of discipline. Waking up early, performing regular physical exercises, adopting healthy eating habits, studying punctually should be some disciplined habits taught to them by their parents. Children often follow the foot steps of their parents. Parents should set an example to whom children can copy.
School is also a perfect example to teach their students elements of discipline. Teachers can mould their students and can bring best out of them. Teachers should inculcate good habits in their students. Without discipline, school would become a fish market. Students are taught to be punctual to the class, punctual in their home work and class work. They do not allow students to make noise and also never allow any kind of disobedience. They become strict and even cruel in kindness to teach their students disciplined values.
Discipline of body and mind both are equally important. A disciplined body is one which is healthy, strong and alert always. A disciplined mind is one which is firm and does not easily gets influenced by others. All the emotions are kept under control. Mind is the one who controls body. Disciplined mind is essential for a disciplined body.
N.C.C., scouts, guides teach students to become disciplined and obedient. They teach them discipline through various games like cricket, basket ball, foot ball etc..... It is essential to inculcate good disciplined values in the early childhood. Discipline lays a good foundation. On this foundation they can form the mansion of their future. The direction in which twig is bent, in the same direction the tree will grow. Thus, discipline has to be taught in early age itself. Without discipline home becomes hell, class room becomes a fish market and play ground is more like a war place. Discipline is hardly seen in schools and colleges which are crowded with students and where organizations are not strong enough to control them. For their smooth running, discipline is the only solution.
Discipline can best be seen in army men. They are the perfect examples. A disciplined army of few men is more powerful when compared to an indiscipline army of millions in number. If army is indiscipline, battle could never be won. Similarly, discipline is essential in each and every field in fact every where, may it be school, colleges, army or work place. In offices discipline is essential. From peon to the executive all should be disciplined for smooth running and development of an individual as well as for whole of the organization. Being in discipline a person should not compare himself to be in bondage. Life without discipline is like a ship without a rudder. Thus, one should have discipline of the body and mind.
PUNCTUALITY:-
Performing given duty at the appointed time regularly is said to be punctuality and a person is regarded as punctual. There should not be any delay, no matter what circumstances or conditions a person should go through. Punctuality earns person fame and good name. It makes his work easy. This value should be a part of each and everyone's life. This is a good habit and should be cultivated and practiced even in day-to-day chores.
We always complain regarding want of time. We make such excuses to escape from blame. It is actually the result of unpunctuality. If we sit idle and expect our work to get over then we are no less than stupids. If we remain punctual all our works get completed in time. Not only this, tension and mental stress are avoided which we have to face for sure if work is delayed. Work could not be completed in a told period will certainly cause inconveniences.
If students are not punctual they have to face loss of studies. If one is delayed while going to examination hall then he may not be allowed to enter the hall and if allowed may face the loss of time. He will become nervous and would not fare well as he falls short of time. Students should cultivate this habit of being punctual right from their school days itself. Teachers and parents should set a right example in front of them. This habit of punctuality will hep them to reap sweet fruits in their future. They should learn to be punctual in rising early, healthy exercising, reading books. They should be punctual in their studies as well as make good use of leisure.
Today's leaders are unpunctual and have made this unpunctuality as their habit. They make the crowd to wait for hours together. Crowd in the honor of their leader and in the greed to hear and witness them from their eyes wait for long hours baking in the sun, shivering in the winters and totally drenched in the rain. This is just waste of time. Few leaders and celebrities think that being unpunctual and arriving late make them rank high in the society. Such places should be quit by the audience and should never be given any importance.
Gandhiji was a person who had great sense of time. He was never unpunctual. He woke up early. His prayer, morning walk, meals, sleep, works, discussions were all from time to time. He in his entire life never tried to break his punctuality.
Punctuality is a habit, a driving force and is very essential for the prosperity of an individual. It saves human energy. It saves time. It makes work easy and helps life to run smoothly.
HONESTY:-
Honesty is considered to be the best policy. If not in the beginning but later in the long run it's success is for sure. Dishonest people may succeed but only for a certain period of time. Honesty is the only sure means to achieve success.
Through dishonesty one can become rich quickly. Money obtained by dishonest means will never become fruitful to earner. He can never enjoy his money and always fears of his misdeeds being revealed in the society. He does fraud as it tempts him to become successful. However this success through dishonesty is not more than punishment. It is just disgraceful. It is a life long disgrace.
If dishonesty gets detected in early life it is better for the culprit. Punishment given could bring him to his senses. This imparts good effects on the culprit and prevents him from becoming a dishonest person. But, if detected late this dishonesty may ruin his life. He may face terrible consequences and severe punishments like imprisonment. Dishonest person thus rarely can achieve success. If a culprit however achieves success and escapes detection even then he cannot live happily. He suffers from pain of fear of detection. He can die with name and fame but has to live with guilt. If he would have practiced honesty, he would earn more money, would become more successful and would have achieved desired name and fame by working hard instead of practicing dishonesty and thus would have escaped guilt.
Honesty may not pay sooner, but it is sure that it will pay later. Dishonest means will never help achieve a noble goal. Only honest direction can lead to a good end. Path of honesty is not easy and can be followed only by patient men. However, for happiness it is essential as it is a guilt free path. It is free of agony. Honest man does not crave for any reward as he know honesty itself is his reward. Thus, God blesses honest men and always keep them happy.
