Good health does not only mean being free from disease. It also means having a body that is fit and a mind that is healthy. A healthy person can work hard, interact well with people, enjoy leisure, and adapt to the changes and stresses of life.
Locusts destroy our food crops. Mosquitoes, mites, bed-bugs and lice suck our blood. Malaria disease attacks from mosquitoes. Everybody use cotton nets for free air circulation.
Cockroaches and houseflies do not bite. But they are a nuisance. Cockroaches stay in the dark corners and in the drains. They come out in the night in search of food. They carry of germs and dirt on their body. Houseflies come from out side the house. They sit on dirty places like garbage etc. and pickup all types of disease causing germs. They come insides the house and sit on food. The germ contaminates the food, when this food is consumed it causes intestinal and other serious diseases.
Fixing nets to the doors and windows prevent the flying insects from entering the house. And separate use nets for mosquitoes.
Food items should be kept covered. Surroundings of the house should be kept clean garbage should be disposed off suitable.
Insects like houseflies, bedbugs’ cockroaches and mosquitoes can be controlling using insecticides in from of sprays. Special chemicals are used to kill white –ants or termites. However, great care is to be taken in using insecticides. Excessive use can damage our environment.
Plants around the house should be sprayed with suitable pesticides. Organic pesticides prepared from extra of neem leaves which are much safer than synthetic chemicals are now available.
The house should be kept clean and free from insects by washing the floor with germicides like phenyl.
Remove all clothes from the wardrobe often for cleaning and placing naphthalene balls.
*Mosquitoes lay their eggs on or near water. The larva goes into the pupa by feeding on small plants and other substances in the water.
