Hi friend, her let me share about the story and theme of the recently released Hollywood film called as Planet 51. Indeed, it is my pleasure to share my experience about this film, because I really enjoyed this film and this is not an ordinary theme, in fact the story goes beyond universal feeling, as it explains the friendship between an Astronaut from Earth and a citizen of unknown planet, known as planet 51.

This film contains everything, from action, excitement, superb comedy sequence and more importantly the emotions at the climax, which really makes the film worth watching. And most importantly, this is an animated movie and story and the direction is absolutely good, and this will be a great entertainer not only for kids, but for everyone.

So before moving into the storyline let us discuss about “what is planet 51”? Well, it is simple and this planet resembles the earth in 1950’s and they are very strict about aliens (unfortunately, the humans are also aliens to them). Their look is somewhat similar to that of the aliens, but their head has an antenna like structure. Apart from this, the rest is same as that of earth, where they have cinema theatres, police patrol etc.

The opening of the film describes the way in which people enjoy in the planet and as matter of fact there is hardly any problem there. Interestingly instead of water drops, you can find small stones and it is considered as the rain there. The hero of our film is a character called “Lem” and he gets a job in a planetarium museum there and he is very happy and he has huge dreams about his future and also plans to make his dreams come true. He is also in love with his neighbour, Neera, but unfortunately he couldn’t express his love as he was disturbed always by Neera’s friend.

It was also shown that there is a place called “Base 9” where the aliens are kept as prisoners and they also remove the brains of aliens. However a robot called Rover, which was sent from Earth to take pictures about this planet since back in earth everybody thought that this was an inhabited planet, managed to escape form the Base 9 and it also collects sample specimens of the planet.

Fortunately for the robot, it discovers that a spaceship was coming from the earth, with an astronaut. So this computer programmed Robot’s new task is to find the location of this Astronaut. Lem’s best friend was Skiff and he become very close with the robot in the later part of the film and as a matter of fact Charles leave the robot in the planet as it was very much fond of Skiff.

Apart from Lem, another important character in the film is Captain Charles 'Chuck' Baker, an astronaut form NASA, and he lands in this planet, thinking that it is an inhabited planet. After landing, he plants the American flag in the planet, before realizing that he was not alone. This is a very very funny situation, when Bakers sees the people of the Planet 51, because both of them were surprised, shocked and frightened which made Charles to run like anything and he hid himself in the planetarium, where Lem was working.

Then the rest of the story deals with the friendship that develops between Lem and Charles. At first instant Lem was also afraid, but later after the explanation given by Charles, Lem started to believe him and also promised to take Charles to his spaceship. But by this time the army team of that planet captures the spaceship and this is a great hurdle for them. So just get entertained and be amazed to know how they find the spaceship.

Story :

The film starts with a FedEx van entering a farm named DICK BETTINA owned by a person named Mrs.Peterson where she hands over a package to the FedEx employee to be delivered to her husband who is in Russia.

Later the film moves on with the introduction of Chuck Noland(Tom Hanks) whio works as a system analyst for FedEx. He keeps on insisting the value of time to his colleagues and always ask them to stick to time that needs to be their main objective. In Russia he then fastens everything up for a delivery of packages that needs to be loaded into the FedEx plane headed to Memphis America within a time of 15 minutes. Before leaving Russia Chuck Noland calls Kelly Frears(Helen Hunt) with whom he has been living for a long time and leaves her the message that he is leaving shortly to Memphis.

Later he boards the plane with his co worker Stan(Nick Searcy ) whose wife is seriously ill. When they reach Memphis Chuck Noland promises Stan to get him the contact number of a doctor in Atlanta whom he hopes to cure the illness of Stan’s wife.

Later when Chuck Noland sits with his family and friend’s for dinner on Christmas eve he receives a message for an urgent assignment and he needs to go overseas. He then leaves for the airport with his fiance Kelly Frears(Helen Hunt). At the airport in the car she hands over an old pocket watch with her photo in it as Christmas present to Chuck Noland and he in turn hands over a gift to her and asks her to open it on New year eve.

Later he boards the plane .While the plane is flying somewhere over the Pacific it loses its signal and the bad weather makes the situation worse that the plane loses control and crashes into the ocean somehow Chuck Noland tries to escapes death  with a small life boat.

In the morning he finds himself on the shore of an Island all alone. He also finds out that his pager and the pocket watch don’t work anymore.he then collects some packages being which the waters bring to the shore from the crashed airplane. He goes through the Island to see if he could find someone but finds none. At night he gets frightened by some unusual banging sounds.

The next morning he again collects  some packages that have been washed to the shore meanwhile he hears the sound again and finds it out to be the sound created by coconuts falling from trees. He then collects them and tries to break them but everything goes in vain after which he finds out a method and quenches his thrist.

Later he check out a a cave in nearby mountain while he gets the package bearing the symbol of DICK BETTINA(Wings of angels circled by holy rings). He then makes himself a pair of shoe like covering for his toes by tearing half of his pant and heads to the mountain top .

From there he spots an image being brought to the island by the waters.  As runs to it he finds it to be the corpse of one of the pilots named Albert R Miller of the FedEx plane that got crashed. Having no other choice left he takes away the pilot’s shoes and his torch before burying him. He sleeps every night thinking of  Kelly Frears. At day time he collects rain water from leaves for drinking. He also tries to catch fish but couldn’t.

Later he leaves the island with his life boat on seeing a light far away. Unfortunately he gets his boat damaged and leg hurt after being hit by a a big tide. Later that night he seeks refuge in a cave   and finds his legs to be severly hurt.

He then opens all the packages he collected one by one in which he finds some video tapes, a pair of ice skating shoes ,a volleyball and a gown but he doesn’t open the package bearing the symbol of Dick Bettina.

He then realizes the need of  fire to cook food and to warm him up he tries to make fire by rubbing a wooden stick to the bark of a tree but he gets hurt in his hands ,on seeing the blood he gets frustrated and throws everything in anger including the volley ball (Wilson) .

Few minutes later he finds the volleyball with his blood stains which resembles a face after which he makes a few changes to make it look like a face and names it Wilson and starts talking to it .Again he starts to make fire and all of a sudden he sees a flame ,thus  makes fire and puts  logs of wood into it to make it burn for a long time .He rejoices for having created fire all of his own for the first time in his life without match sticks, lighter etc.

It reveals the real pleasure a man gets on inventing something, the joy he experiences. Later on he cooks the crab he caught earlier and eats happily. Meanwhile his problem with his teeth worsens. He then removes the problematic teeth and four years pass by.

One day he finds a broken steel door washed to the shore which gives him a hope of building a small boat to escape from the island. He then prepares all the things necessary to build the boat and makes himself available with a large amount of rope.

After building the boat he waits for the wind to blow in the right direction and takes off with Wilson in the boat he built.He rows through tough tides and in storm and manages to survive somehow but unfortunately he loses Wilson the volleyball in the water .Fully tired and frustrated he lies down on the damaged boat when something very might passes beside him at a distance making a sound which he waited to hear for the past four years and there at a distance he saw thing giving the long awaited call, it was nothing but a big cargo ship . He is then rescued and sent back to Memphis in a plane where a huge crowd waits to welcome him . In the airport a person a person named Jerry Lovert introduces himself to Chuck Noland as Kelly’ husband and tells Chuck how he met Kelly and how they got married. He also added that Kelly was confused on Chuck’s return whom she thought to have been dead and said she could not meet him. Chuck Noland stands startled there on seeing  Jerry Lovert driving Kelly Frears home.

The next day he goes to meet Kelly Frears at her place where she comes to know she has a baby and has a brief talk with her while he tells her that he should have never left their car four years back and he feels very sorry for leaving her .On hearing this she takes him to her garage and to Chuck’s great surprise she shows him his car the car which he drove to the airport with her four years back.

Chuck tells her how happy it was to see their car back and asks her for a ride and she hands over the keys to him. When he is half the way from her house she gets the feeling of losing something and shouts chuck’s name and runs to him and hugs him telling that she loves him. Chuck takes her in his car to her home and tells her that her family needs her. Later that night he tells his friend how he misses Kelly and he never thought he would be back to his homeland anyday .The next day he drives to the farm of Dick Bettina to deliver the package bearing the symbol of  a pair of angel wings and holy rings. He finds no one there and he keeps the package at the doorstep with a note saying ”This package saved my life thanks Chuck Noland”.

While returning he stands at the edge of a road with a map to figure out which direction to go. A car coming that way stops and a lady gets down from the car asking him if he is lost ,when he answers yes she guides him as to which road leads  where and leaves wishing him good bye. At the rear end of the vehicle he finds the sign that rescued his life which makes him look at the crossroads and smile.

About the film:

It is a film that makes everyone feel the difference and I recommend everyone to watch the film because it perfectly portrays the feelings and experiences of a person all alone and his only companion is nothing else but nature.

Hi friends in this article let us discuss about the film called "Catch Me if You can" which was inspired by a true story of Frank Abagnale, and directed by Steven Spielberg.The theme of the movie is that, how a young man involves in fraud check and the story revolves around how he get caught and what happens after that.

As this is based on a real story you can't expect any kind of thriller or great excitement in every scene, but still it will entertain you because the way Frank Abagnale he make the cheques and they way he tackles the problem are really excellent and he also inspired the great attitude and confidence from his father as he used to say this story.

The most important thing in this film is that Leonardo DiCaprio acted as a 15 year old boy and I guess he  had lost lots of weight to become so young because it is very difficult for a 34 year old man to become that Young.Iam not sure any graphics work were used, but truly amazing.

Real"Frank William Abagnale Jr."

In the real life, even before the age of 21 he is said to have cheated more than 4 Million USD but later when he was released and after starting a company he could earn more than this and also able to pay the money to those whom he had cheated in his young age.The image below is the original image of Frank.

His inspiration was his father and his father usually says a short story which motivates him and that is

"Two little mice fell in a bucket of cream and the first mouse gave up quickly and it drowned but the second moused didn' give up, and it struggled so hard to clim and eventually it churned that cream into butter and it escapes out"

and his father also says that he was the second mouse and at any point of time we shouldn't give up and be positive and confident.I guess these are really good point and if possible we should also keep this as a motivation.

Apart from this Frank Abagnale, Jr also started the Abagnale & Associates,which is a security consultants that works to find the fraud cheques and this association also works with FBI for 35 years in finding fraud cheques and also more than 14,000 institutions have adopted Abagnale's fraud prevention programs.

At present he lives in Tulsa, Oklahoma with his wife and the couple has three sons with one of the son working as FBI agent.He is at present the CEO of CEO Abagnale & Associates, security consultants

The main 4 characters of the film includes

i)Leonardo DiCaprio as Frank Abagnale, Jr. and he is the hero of this film even though he was notorious.I guess many would have watched the Tamil film called "Ayan" acted by Surya, where he was a brilliant smuggler and at last he decides to help the Government,and becomes the Custom officer, as he was talented and knew how the smugglers usually proceed, and similarly the same thing happens to Frank William Abagnale, J where he becomes the agent of FBI Financial Crimes unit.

ii)Tom Hanks as Carl Hanratty,who is the FBI agent who took care of the Cheque Fraud issues.Reports says that the actual FBI agent was Joe Shaye, but they used different name in the film and as a matter of fact Joe Shaye and Frank Abagnale, Jr still remained as good friends and he is a great inspiration to Frank Abagnale, Jr.Carl Hanratty had a daughter,Grace, in Chicago with his divorced wife.

iii)Christopher Walken as Frank Abagnale Sr, Frank's father and he is an inspiring factor for his son.He divorce his wife after he also lost most of his wealth because he has committed IRS tax evasion.Later in the film he was said to be dead in an accident when he fell from a staircase in the railway station.

iv)Nathalie Baye as Paula Abagnale/Barnes and she is the mother of Frank Abagnale, Jr and his father married her during the world war 2.She got separated from his husband when Frank Abagnale, Jr was 15 years old and later he married another person called Jack Barnes(James Brolin  played this character in this film) and in the film during the climax when Frank Abagnale, Jr escapes from the FBI when he was taken to USA, he visits his mother's house where he finds that his mother had a daughter.

Apart from them other characters includes

#)Amy Adams as Brenda Strong, and she was shown in the film as a newly appointed nurse in a hospital and there she sees Frank Abagnale, Jr. At this time Frank Abagnale, Jr says that he was a doctor and says his name was Frank Conners and at the later part of the movie they were about to get married, but the marriage was cancelled when the FBI agent comes in search of Frank Abagnale, Jr. for his fraud activities.

#)Martin Sheen and Nancy Lenehan as Roger Strong and Carol Strong respectively and they were the father and mother of Brenda Strong

About the movie

The film starts with a TV show with three person that includes Frank Abagnale, Jr, were asked question so that they could find the correct Frank Abagnale, Jr and when the chance came to ask the real Frank Abagnale, Jr regarding who arrested him, the actual film starts.

In the first scene Carl pronounces his name correctly so that he could enter the French Prison to meet Frank whom he arrested the previous day due to fraud cheque case.Then he goes inside the prison and meets Frank and asked the French officers that he needs medical attention and when they were about to give medical treatment Frank tries to escape and after that the story goes six years back to 1963 when Frank was 15 years old.

The flash back starts when Frank's father was given the life time membership in the Rotary club and after this in the next scene Frank's father looses his property due to a series of IRS tax frauds and as a result of this they have to sell their large house and move to a smaller apartment.

Frank was admitted in another school where he was warned bu the Principal of the school as Frank was taking French class as a substitute to his French teacher.Frank also finds her mother was in affair with Jack who was the friend of Frank's father.

And after few days his father and mother decides to separate and the lawyer asks Frank to write either his father's name of his mother's name in the legal document so that he could stay with the name he writes in that document.Frank was frustrated and he runs from that place to the railway station.

He slowly starts to cheat with the Cheque which was given to him by his father and at one point of time near the airport he sees a pilot with several stewardess around him and this also motivated him to became a pilot and that too the pilot of the prestigious Pan American Airways and he also uses fraud cheques and at one stage it crossed more than 2 million USD.

He also produced duplicate ID cards and he started to interview the airport officer and pilots regarding the job of a pilot by saying that he was representing a school and just want to interview them and ge made this as a regular session and finally he manages to work as a co pilot and he travelled more that 2 million kilometers in air and also earned 1400 USD per month.

Later when he was in a hotel Carl finds that he would be there and comes to his room.At that time Frank comes from the toilet and says that Carl was late as the culprit escaped and he was from Secret Service and his name was Barry Allen and Frank leaves that place and he fooled Carl.

This confusion happened because Carl don't have any picture of Frank and if he would have caught him in that place itself.After that Frank used to call Carl on Christmas and Carl found that the reason why Frank calls him that he had no one else to speak.

This made Carl's higher officers angry. But however he was able to find that Frank was a young boy as the name Barry Allen which Frank said in the hotel was a comic character's name in the comic book "FLASH".Then Carl decides to put an hold to his pilot dream and now he wants to become a doctor and he also produced duplicate documents to become a doctor under the name Frank Conners and this is a place where he meets nurse Brenda and he falls in love with her.

Later Brenda takes him to his parents and there Frank says that he already passed the bar exam of Louisiana and want to become a lawyer.In the mean time Brenda's parents make marriage arrangements.But the marriage was cancelled when the FBI agent comes in search of Frank Abagnale, Jr. for his fraud activities.

Watching the arrival of Carl Frank escapes from that place and he also says the real name to Brenda for the first time and asks here to come to the Miami International Airport at exactly 10 am, 2 days from that day, and asks her not to say anyone about this plan.

After 2 days when he goes to the airport he finds that the FBI agents were informed about his arrival and he tries for another plan to escape from USA.He calls a nearby girls college and said that he represented Pan - Am airways and he will come for the recruitment for tyhe post of "stewardesses-in-training".

He goes there and selects 8 of them and said that they will go for a Europe tour.With their respective uniform they arrived at the airport and the FBI against couldn't recognise him.This was distracted by a phone call to Carl which says tha a driver was wearing the pilot dress and this plan was worked by Frank.

After seven months Carl finds that Frank was forging cheques all over the world and so that he goes to the professional printers, who says that they might have been printed in France.So Carl believe that Frank will be in France and his prediction comes true and he finds Frank there and arrests him, but the French police takes him in their custody.

Carl assures that Fank will be taken to USA.And now the flashback ends.So Carl was given permission to take Frank to USA and while they were about to reach USA Frank was informed that his father died.Frank couldn't tolerate this and he also escapes form the flight which was about to land , when he was in the toilet.

After this he directly goes to his mother's house and finds that his mother had a daughter with her second husband Jack.Then he was arrested by the police and was given 12 years imprisonment.But Carl says his higher officials that Frank is very talented and he will be helpful for the FBI Financial Crimes unit and his boss after testing Frank accepts that he would help Frank.

Frank who had no option chose to do this job till he finishes his punishment and after some days again he tried to become a pilot with fake ID but Carl finds this and says that he took lot of risk to get this job for Frank and also believed that Frank will come to FBI again.As expected Frank comes and joins the team.Thus how the film ends and they remain as friends forever.

The IMDB rating for this movie is 7.7 out of 10.

The Princess Diaries :

Story : Mia ( played by Anne Hathaway ) is a girl studying in High School. She is a kind and loving person but that is not enough for her to survive in her school. She does not look preety and does not have a sense of fashion and lady like personality like the other popular girls in her school. She is terrible at stage speeches, and has no goals in life. She just wants to be invisible from the rest of the world and get through her hectic school life. She lives with her mother an artist. She has never met her father and does not know anything about him. It is after one year after her father's death, a new twist in her boring life story arises that changes her life for ever.

One day, she hears the news of her Grandmother ( Played by Julia Andrews) who came all the way from Europe to meet her grand daughter. Mia hesitates as it is the first time she is goint to meet her but after her mother's request she decides to meet her grand mother. With the muddy shoes and dirty nails, she meets her grandmother for the first time in a very big house who is very cleanly dressed and have a dignified look. This is during their conversation that she realises that her father was Royalty and was actually the King of Genovia, a lovely place in Europe. Mia is next in line for the throne to rule the country as a Princess as there are no other eligible members.

Hearing this Mia runs in panic. She, who wants to be invisible has now the responsibility of ruling a whole nation. This story deals with how the girl strives to become a better person day by day. Since the character is very Clumsy, she trying to become a princess and the efforts made by her is taken in a funny manner and therefore the movie falls under the Comedy category. Throughout the movie, Mia faces a lot of troubles in dealing with rival school mates, misunderstandings with friends, boyfriend trouble, and especially the media. This movie adds courage and hope to the youngsters.

Movie Description : The movie, The Princess Diaries was directed by Garry Marshall. The movie was distributed by Buena Vista Pictures and was releades in the year 2003. The movie was produced by Debra Martin Chase,Whitney Houston and Mario Iscovich. The screenplay was written by Gina Wendcos. The movie was released in United States.

My rating and overall Review : The movie is excellent for people of all ages to watch. The comedy content is mainly due to the actions of the Character > Mia but not due to the funny vocal lines in a story. Soo, it is funny to watch and not that funny to hear. It is the contrast between professionalism and clumsiness that has been picturised beautifully. Anne Hathaway playing the role of the high school girl and Julia Roberts playing the role of Grand mother, the moview seems to not lack anything. Their roles are perfect to blend with the story.

Rating : Comedy = 4 / 5, Romance = 3 / 5, Soul = 5 / 5, Overall rating = 4 / 5.

The Princess Diaries 2 >  Royal Engagement :

Story : This second movie was released inthe year 2004. Mia now being 21, has graduated and is now ready to rule the beautiful country called Genovia with the help of the training provided by her Grandmother. She visits Genovia to live in the castle and get used to the lifestyle in Genovia. She can now live a beautiful castle with all luxurious jewellery and clothes and maids to provide her with immediate services. Though this sounds all exciting, her troubles seem to get even worse than her training.

It has been customary in the Genovia law that a female can take over the crown only when she is married. Hence, Mia is forced to find a suitable Groom in one month. Apparently, there seems to be another eligible man to take over the throne. If Mia fails to find a husband in a month, she would lose the throne. Since she can not fall in love in this time, the only choice is the arranged marriage which Mia is not favour of. Since, Mia realises her responsibility, she agres to an arranged marriage. Out of the many eligible bachelors, Mia finds a perfect man. Things seem to be going well, but eventually Mia starts falling for the man who is after the throne. This creates a lot of commotion in the media and adds hindrances to her position of being the Queen. But, in the end like in any movie, things get to an happy ending.

My rating and overall Review : This second movie focuses more on the Romance aspect. Her clumsiness seems to be the same even though a lot of time has passed. Her actions contribute a lot of enthusiasm in the audiance. This movie introduces a lot of new faces also. The movie sound track > Breakaway by Kelly Klarkson has also hit the music records.
