The most important part of this film is that Kamalhassan has enacted as the Srilankan Tamil and he did a tremendous job as his acting was greatly appreciated.Apart from comedy some scene descibes the suffering of Tamil people in Srilanka and even in these scenes Kamal did a splendid job.

Jayaram supported him very well and he has done a role of a doctor .The scenes where both these two leading actors act together are excellent and they will entertain you very well.

About the film and story

This film is a remake of the English film "What About Bob?".

The film starts in Chennai when a patient tries to suicide from the top of the building but was saved by the Doctor Kailash in a fantastic way and this made him a famous and all the media covered this news

But Dr.Kailash was once a junior to Dr. Panchabhootham and this fame to Dr.kailash made him jealous and he tries to reduce his fame.So he sends one of his patient ,i.e kamal, to Kailash, as Kamal was a man who fears for everything as he had a terrible life in Sri Lanka due to war.

Dr. Panchabhootham had an idea in that mind that Kailash can't cure Thenali(Kamal) and this will be a trouble for him and his fame will get reduced.So he sends Thenali to Dr. Kailash.

But unfortunately Kailash was ready to go for vacation to his guest house in Kodaikanal with his wife Jalaja(Devayani) and two children lived.So he asks to come after some months for treatment.But Thenali had no house and he also goes to  Kodaikanl without Kailah knowledge with the help of Dr. Panchabhootham

There he goes to Kailsh Guest house which was a shock for Kailash and he tried to avoid him by sending him out of the towm but each and every time he tries to do this Thenali some how returns home.

But this time Janaki(Jyotika) comes to Kodaikandal and she falls in love with Kamal.Kailash couldn't accept this and he tried to avoid Kamal and each time when Kailsh did something bad to Kamal,he couldn't succeed and that time Kailash says that this was a treatment.

Then the rest of the film revolves around how Dr. Kailash goes mad with the antics of Thenali and at one stage he tries to kill Thenali by tying him to a tree with a time bomb,but Thenali thinks is a not a bomb , its just a treatment and he removes and puts it in the doctor's house, which resulted in the explosion of the house which eventually made Kailash to suffer from paralytic attack.

After this Kamal and Jyotika gets married and at last Kamal tries to cure Dr. Kailash by shock treatment and he brings Meena, Abdul Hameed and K.S. Ravikumar and also made Meena to act as his Sri Lankan wife.This shock cured Kailash and then Kamal says this is just a treatment and after that the story ends happily

A very good thriller.....Well made....good to watch...actually i m not interested in watching this movie but i started it only for the reason that Danny Boyle directed it....after watching 5 minutes , i hadn't stopped till the very end...had a good time...in fact , i felt it better than "I Am Legend"......7/10

About the film and story

This is an award-winning  film as the film won the National Award for the best regional language film(Tamil+ and the film got this award after competing a tough competition from two big films and that includes Kamal's Virumaandi and Vikram's Pithanagan.

The main film stars of this film includes Shaam, Arun Vijay, Kutti Radhika and Seema Biswas. This is a low-budget
film and the soundtrack composed by Vidyasagar was extremely wonderful.

The theme of the film is love story and to be specific it is a triangular love story and this film was had relative success in the Kollywood box office.Mainly the film is based on Dostoyevsky's "White Nights".

The films starts with a ship coming to Rameswarama and in that Sham(Marudhu) comes as the member of the ship.When the Ship comes Nancy(Kutty Radhika) eagaely awaits as if she was expecting for someone.Sham comes to India after a long time as he was continuously sailing in ship and when he landed he just kisses the beach,i.e the sand.

After he goes into the town and enjoys for a while.At one point of time Nancy comes to Marudhu and asks for help with Marudhu and she reveals that she was in love with Arun Vijay who was a ship captain and visited the city some years back.

Marudhu also helps her but he also loves her and at one point of time she propose to her while he was helping to where is Arun Vijay.Nancy gets angry and she scolds him.

She decided not to speak to Marudhu and when she got the news that a ship has come to Sri Lanka and she believes that Arun Vijay will be in that ship and she decides to take a boat to Sri Lanka and during this time Marudhu also joins her in the boat.

The ship stops in the middle of the ocean as there was no fuel and when there was an arguement between them the ring in the hands of Nancy ,which was presented by Arun Vijay, slips and falls into ocean.She cries and says that it was really important.

So Marudu dives into the ocean and tries to take that ring but he was drowned.Fortunately a boat comes that side and they rescue Marudhu and takes him to the shore, but Marudhu was still unconscious.But later he was rescued and he opens his finger Nancy finds the ring.

At this time Marudhu says that till that time the reing was a remembrance for Arun Vijay but hereafter the ring symbolises his love towards Nancy.

Aftre that a ship comes to the city and Nancy finds a friend of Arun Vijay in that ship and she was shocked to hear that the ship in which Arun Vijay travelled met with and accident and the probability that Arun Vijay is alive is very very less

Later one Marudhu was to leave the city and he compels Nancy to take a decision.But she didn't accept it as she still believes that Arun vijay loves here.

He takes her to chrurch and writes his name and captains name and asked her to take one paper in the name of God as she couldnt make a decision on her own.She takes one paper and this was kept in a box and given to Pasupati,who was the Father of the church.

Marudhu says that she has got time till he leave to say her love or he will find by opening the decision box.However at last she takes a decision and dint want to open  and see what was in the decision paper, and he accepted to marry Marudhu and so Marudhu decided not to leave the city.

All these happened on Christmas and everybody was enjoying it(In film this was the "Alaye alaye..." song.When the song finishes Marudhu finds that some other person was kissing Nancy and everybody around here was supriesed and shocked to see Arun Vijay, as he was one in a billion to survive the ship accident.The image below is a scene form the Alaye Alaye song

After seeing this Nancy was very happy and they both were dancing and seeing this Marudhu was shocked  and he leaves that place befor anyone notice him.

The film ends as Sham Leaves the city and he throws down a decision box which contains the Nancy's decison into the ocean.

Many of the scenes from this film which has an old light house submerged in sea and many other scenes, are supposed to be taken in Andaman and Nicobar Island.

The Song "Kadhal Vandhal Solli Anuppu...." became very famous and this is truly melodious

Hi friends in this article let us discuss about a tamil film called Nammavar.This is one of the best film which i have seen and the reason is two person, Kamalhassan and Nagesh.

Nagesh did an extremely good job for which he got a National awards for the best supporting actor and his performance was very much appreciated by the people than that of Kamal Hassan even though Kamal did a Splendid Job.

What's the movie about?

This is not Kamal's usual movie,but in fact Kamal always does different type of stories, and this was something different than any other role he has done during that time and he comes as a college Lecturer and also as the Vice Principal and the movie moves around a gang in the college who doesn't like Kamal and the ret of the movie goes in such a way that Kamal was trying to make the college good and free from that Gang.The opposite gang has a leader and it is the actor Karan.

About the Story of the movie

Here in this film Kamal Hassan's role is very different as he plays a revolutionary vice principal of Shaktivel college and the core of the movie is about how Kamal tries to bring the college to a good position and how he faces the consequences .

He not only says the way but also initiates and soon he became very famous and become an inspiring character to all the students.

The film starts in a riot when Nirmala(Choreographer Brinda) wins the election by defeating  Ramesh(Karan).As Karan is notorious figure due to his activities and moreover he is the son of the college trustee, Velusamy.Not able to accept the defeat Ramesh starts a riot in college and this is the entry of Kamalhassan, who is the newly appointed vice principal.

Karan who is the son of one of the owner of the college and he forms a gang and disturb the daily proceedings and involve in violence and things started to change aftre the entry of Kamalhassan.Whenever Kamal tries to do anything good for the college  Ramesh spoils his attempt everytime.

Meanwhile Gauthami who is the lecturer of the college falls in love with Kamalhassan.At one incident Karan breaks the wash basin glass on his head and he put the blame on Kamalhassan and asks him to say sorry.

In this scene Kamal has done a great job in his acting and at first he says sorry and then continues that that this sorry is for not able to change Karan.However he personally asks sorry to Karan at last due to the pressure from the management and Karan's gang.

At one point of time one of the student fell down from the floor and when he was taken to thhe hospital Kamal refuses to give blood in spite of having the same blood group and he calls the blood bank and asks for help.He will leave the hospital and reaches home and Gauthami seeing all these incidents will scold Kamal for not having humanity.

At that time Senthil, who acts as the servant to Kamal, reveals the secret thet Kamal was suffering from Cancer and he cannot involve in any kind of Blood transormation as it will be danger for the patient.Gauthami feels sorry and Kamal asks her to promise, not to say this to anyone.

Kamal also saves some of the gang members of Karan group from drug addiction and he admit them in rehabilitation center. During the inter college day function Karan comes and breaks all the musical instruments , but in spite of that Kamal managed to help the students to gain confidence and he also performs in that function without any musical instruments but with the help of mimicry and also used hands and mouths to produce sounds.

This song is "Ethilum Valvlan Da..." which was sung by  Kamal Hassan along with S. P. Balasubrahmanyam

When the function was over, Karan kidnaps Nirmala.Kamal and Nagesh rescue her from the police station.But Nirmala couldn't tolerate this and she hangs herself the next morning when Nagesh was not there.On hearing this Nagesh comes to the house and cries and it is for this acting Nagesh gor the Best Supporting Actor  - National Award(Silver Lotus Award)

Nirmala lover was very angry and he goes directly to Ramesh to kill him.Kamal tries to save Ramesh but he was injured in this incident and tells others the reason why Ramesh behaves in this manner.

He says that this college was the place which transformed him to good position because he was also like Ramesh when he studied college abut he had a siste to show affection and change him, whereas Ramesh dont have mother and there was no one to take care of him.This scene was also very much appreciated.

Later the film ends when Kamal leaves to USA with his wife and sister, with a hope that the cancer can be cured and before leaving this he looks at the college for the pleasant memories he had there and he takes a group photo with all the students and staff.
