I am a huge fan of 'The Silence Of The Lambs' and its immortal characters. So the attempts made to replicate the magic of that movie always fail to impress me. Except this one. The tagline of the movie is 'Meet Hannibal Lecter For The First Time'. Clearly it suggests that it is a prequel to Silence. This movie introduces us to the officer who actually caught Lecter - that being the character played by Norton. This movie also introduces another manipulative, violent and cold killer who is in control of a Chinese myth called Red Dragon which makes him kill families every full moon. Norton along with the 'supposed' help of Lecter try to catch the killer, but does he succeed? - Is the movie.

Hopkins is his usual self playing the cannibal Dr Lecter with the coldest of expressions
penetrating the mind of Norton and even the audiences.
Norton plays his role very subtly and actually underplays brilliantly. Maybe this was needed in between all the Psychosis.
I was much impressed with the killer played by Ralph Fiennes who discovers his human side and love for a blind woman even though he is in control of the Chinese Red Dragon.
Overall, not equal to Silence, but will surely give you some thrills.

It's a man's world out there and the right path may always not be the path to success when it comes to buying and selling real estate and this phenomena is best depicted in this realistic drama about four real estate salesmen - Played by Pacino, Lemmon, Harris and Arkin. All of them are a part of an average real estate organization which in order to maximize sales give their salesmen a week to increase their closes. The leads they get for this task are very mediocre and thus will test their salesmen capabilities. But frustration and failures make them take some drastic steps whose consequences they have to face for good.

About the actors, Pacino plays an intelligent and opportunistic guy who is the salesman with the best record currently. Lemmon is the old and experienced guy whose sales record is not that good at the moment but is a big mouth. Harris plays the rebellious and short-tempered guy who has many ideas jumping inside him to make it big. Arkin is the soft-spoken, least confident guy who could not even talk properly to the customers on the phone. Baldwin has a very short scene in the movie but according to me that is the highlight. Spacey is the head of the branch and is the person who receives the most abuses in the movie. Another feature of this movie is the free usage of the 'F' word throughout (Especially directed towards Spacey). In short, this movie gets the thrills even without hardcore action scenes, car crashes etc. Highly Recommended.

Oldboy

..Oh Boy! This movie is fantastic..In all ways.. Story, Performances, Direction, Cinematography, Score.. everything is enough to make you Wowed!
..well I had seen iTs bolly version 'Zinda' first.. I thought may be I won't enjoy the movie as much as others because I was aware of the plot. But it was just out of d world!
..It's poetic! Every scene is decorated with gripping storyline, visually stunning cinematography and brilliant background score! It's thrilling, smart and engaging! If you want to see something extra - ordinary, something different.. watch this!

Alien

The exceptional points about the movie is- firstly the character buildup of each character on the spacecraft with clear definition of all the characters, secondly the special effects used are quite brilliant keeping in mind that its a very old movie, and the little details that are kept in mind in each scene.
A very fascinating first half after which it becomes sort of predictable, that too because many later movies have buildup on this same plot.
Overall 8/10

Defiance

Defiance succeeds on every level of one's expectation, it is everything it promises to be- emotional drama, good fight scenes, and above all great performances. Performance from Daniel Craig and Liev Schreiber are high points of the movie, which transform the good scenes to fascinating ones.

Fargo (1996)

A movie by Coen Bros. This is 4th movie I have watched dir. by coen bros. or either one of 'em. One thing I have noticed that their movies makes philosophical or sarcastic comments on humans' greed for money!! I haven’t liked their movies much but this movie is classic in actual sense!

Acting is excellent especially by William H. Macy, Frances McDormand was also impressive and she also won oscar for Best Actress as leading role! But more impressive thing about the movie is its storyline which is gripping and Coen Bros treatment of Dark Humour which is really perfect! This movie gives you humour with some violent scene.. This type of treatment reminds you of Tarantino or Guy Ritchie movies' Dark Humour and Of course 'Ladykillers' and 'Burn After Reading' by Coen Bros. But this coen movie is best in Dark Comedy!!

Viewers who doesn’t enjoy Dark Humour shoul avoid it, and who do they have themselves a must watch here!!

actually first i played "The Warriors" ps game, got inspired by the story line!!i just watched the movie!!!!!!!!surely one of the best movies i have ever seen in ma life!!!!!terrific screenplay!!!!!!!this film is going to remade once again by tony Scott next year!!!!!!!fantastic movie!!!!!

In an abandoned warehouse, a handful of men slowly regain consciousness, but they’ve been stricken with amnesia and have no idea who they are, where they are, or what has happened to them. All five seem to have been in some sort of serious scuffle; one is tied up, another has been handcuffed, a third has a broken nose, and the other two have their share of scrapes and bruises. As the men compare the tiny shards of memory they can pull from their minds, one finds a newspaper from two days before which features a front-page story about the kidnapping of a wealthy and well-known businessman. The men begin to suspect that they were involved with the kidnapping, but no one is sure if they’re on the right or wrong side of the law – or if one of them might happen to be the victim.
Just an one n half hour movie.. good story line... I rate 8 on 10

CHE part-1

Biography,drama n war all are shown in a quite intense movie very aptly.
Benicio del toro who plays the main protagonist has performed to his excellence.
Though the movie has it's ups n downs , few moments are just too simple n few are just mastered by director steven soderberg.
I think the film just misses few tricks in connecting to the audience who are unaware of Che n the Cuban revolution.
But still worth a watch only for the charismatic character of Ernesto Che guevera.

It's a documentary made on earth n the pollution n it's solution. One of the most extravagant visual delight i have ever seen. The message of the movie is very clear n optimistic , the narration n the background score makes the film more touching. One can get easily bored watching this movie but this is supposed to be just that. This is not everybody's cup of tea but still i suggest to watch it to know this planet n to be ready for the future.

CHRISTIAN BALE is truly the most passionate actor.
This movie is totally carried by the man's performance which is stunning.
The plot or storyline is not very new but this time the locations n the emotions are very realistic.
Very inspiring n engaging rescue drama which has it's soul at the right place.

A simple yet brilliant story told with perfection.
TOM HANKS is just awesome in this movie.
This is easily one of the most touching and sweet movie made by Steven Spielberg.
Watch it if u want to see something different n interesting.
Some of the moments in the movie are very moving n some are truly funny.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

2012 is an English movie, the filming of which was started in early 2009 and was released in the US theatres in November of the same year. The significance of the date 2012 is that Dec 21’st 2012 is stated to be the end of the Mayan calendar (calendar used by the Maya communities) and thus the “end of the world”.  The film topped the box office with world-wide collections of over  $700 million and has been nominated for Critics Choice Award and Satellite awards.

Plot: The film has been made with the date Dec 21^st 2012 in mind. The hero of the film, Jackson Curtis, makes a heroic escape from America along with his family against the backdrop of the chaos created by the “catastrophic incidents”. 

Synopsis: The film starts with an American scientist, Dr Adrian Helmsley, making his way along with his Indian pal Satnam, a geophysicist, on a rainy day to the latter’s copper mine. Satnam shows him how the earth is getting heated up with a shift in its tectonic plates, and the implications of it. Helmsley then goes and warns the US Chief of Staff, Carl Anheuser, and President Thomas Wilson of the impending disaster and urges him to take actions to curb it. According to him, on Dec 21^st 2012, the world would come to an end due to the earth’s core getting rapidly heated up as a result of the sun’s nutrino radiation caused by the misalignment of the planets.

His words prove to be true when surface cracks and earthquakes are witnessed at many a place and car explosions add to the scary atmosphere.  Jackson Curtis, a writer, plans on a trip , but is informed that the areas all over, especially those around the Yellow Stone National Park have become “unstable”. He, thus, cuts short his trip and returns home. Meanwhile, the US government officials try their best on how to control all these disasters and decide on evacuating. Curtis, along with ex-wife Kate and his family pack up and run for their safety at the nick of the moment, carrying a map that was given to Curtis by an old person, Charlie Frost, detailing the directions to the location of a spaceship that was being built to save mankind. As the plane flies, Jackson runs into Yuri, his employer, and family in Las Vegas who are also on their way to the ships. Meanwhile Dr Helmsley and the top officials also fly towards the arks via Air Force One. They all witness Las Vegas, Hawaii and most of the cities going up in flames.

Finally, many people from all over the world come to board the ship and notwithstanding the  turbulent waves and minor crashes with Mount Everest, many people, including Jackson Curtis, manage to survive. The film ends on a happy note with the ship directed to Cape of Good Hope, South Africa which received minimal damage during the mishaps.

Review:  The plot of the movie revolves around the doomsday, which is supposedly on Dec 21^st 2012. 2012 is a drama and action-packed film about a global cataclysm that would bring an end to the world. The latter half of the film elaborately describes the heroic struggle of the survivors.  The characterization is a bit weak, but the picturisation and the visual effects are skilfully handled.  The seriousness is maintained throughout the film, especially towards the ending of the film, with a slight musical touch in a couple of scenes. The depiction of the surface cracks, tsunamis and the volcanic eruptions show the amount of computer graphics used.  Overall, the film is very fascinating especially to those who are great lovers of science fiction. It ends with an interesting message to the viewers and to the population at large.
